With a less than 2 hour flight from London, what better way to spend a long weekend or extended holiday in Austria.

With an alpine climate, winter temperatures range from -15' to 0'C, which provides perfect winter sport conditions. Summer temperatures average within the mid-20's to highs of 30'C+.

The state of Salzburg attracts tourists from across the globe. The thousands of kilometres of hiking paths, cycling routes and ski trails are some of the most beautiful in Europe. Tourist attractions include the historic city of Salzburg, Eisriesenwelt (the world's largest ice cave) and the panoramic Grossglockner Alpine Road.

Zell Am See

One hundred years ago, Zell am See was an unknown market village in the Pinzgau region of Salzburg. Today it has grown into a popular tourist city, which has been given the status of a climatic spa, owing to the fresh mountain air and drinking water quality of the lake.

Within Zell am See, there are numerous events run all year round. During the winter season, enjoy the "Freaks on Snow" show complete with laser lights. Between May & October the lake plays host to the spectacular "Magic Lake Show" and enjoy the annual Christmas market within the vicinity of the town square.

For tourists wishing to venture just outside Zell am See, Europe's highest waterfall (Krimmler Wasserfälle) and the majestic Kitzsteinhorn glacier is easily accessible using local transport. The Alps' oldest and largest national park; Hohe Tauern National Park offers free entrance to those with the Zell am See-Kaprun Card. Two 18-hole championship golf courses less than a 10 min drive away boast top class facilities.

"Our hell in Zell"

Apartment Maya is in a lively location, says the blurb on the Holiday Lettings website. So lively, in fact, that for our family it was impossible to sleep on many nights of our two-week stay (August 1… More

Having had a very different experience ourselves only 2 weeks previously, we have begun legal proceedings against the disco owner, who is failing to comply with the terms of their license.

"Cosy and Fantastic location"

The flat is located in the centre of Zell Am See among the local shops/restaurants. The bus/train station is literally a 2minute walk away which makes it an easy commute from the Airport.
Christian was also very helpful and polite and very quick to respond to queries.
I went during the winter time, so got a good experience of the two tallest snow peaks - Kitzsteinhorn and Schmitten. Friendly local people too - definitely recommend "Deins und Meins" for dinner.
The apartment owners offered a complementary holiday guide which gave useful advice for local amenities too.
Overall, a good experience and would definitely go again in the Summer when the lake and other nearby attractions are open.
