About the home

Chalet Peter has 170 m2 of living space and sleeps 11 guests. The Chalet is perfect for a relaxing holiday for a large family or group of friends. The Chalet is situated on the side of a beautiful valley with views of the Schmittenhohe, the main ski area of Zell am See.

In the dining room there is a Austrian style custom built solid oak dining table and banquet seating for 12 guests. Within the lounge is a traditional Austrian fire, perfect for baking potatoes, apples and chestnuts. There is a flat screen TV with cable, DVD, music centre with Ipod connection and wireless internet access. A large sofa, easy chairs and seating around the fire will accommodate all guests in comfort.

Lounge/dining room:
The open plan lounge/dining room (30 ft/9.6m) is south facing and opens onto a lovely garden with its own spring which supplies the house with drinking water. Within the lounge is a traditional Austrian fire, perfect for baking potatoes, apples and chestnuts. There is a flat screen TV with cable, DVD, music centre with Ipod connection and wireless internet access. A large sofa, easy chairs and seating around the fire will accommodate all guests in comfort.

Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, cooker, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge and an excellent selection of cooking equipment and utensils.

Bedrooms:
There are 5 Bedrooms, 4 Austrian twins, 3 with balconies and one room with bunk beds.

Bathrooms and toilets:
The bathroom on the first floor contains a shower, bath and double sink. There is a shower in the bedroom on the lower ground floor and another in the sauna room.

Lounge:
32 inch flat screen TV connected to cable + DVD player.
Music centre, bring a few of your favourite CD's or IPOD
Internet WIFI connected

Further details outdoors:
The garden which is south facing sweeps up from the house and in the summer is a perfect place to relax with outdoor seating and BBQ.

We plan to install an outside hot tub jacuzzi to be ready by December 2013.

Laundry room:
There is a dedicated laundry room with washing machine, drier, sink and ironing facilities. The boot room has under floor heating and should be accessed from the side of the house.

Sauna
The good size sauna is on the lower ground floor in a room that houses 2 comfortable chairs, music centre and shower.

Skis and boots can be taken into the house via the side of the house and placed on trays which sit on the underfloor heating.

Heating
The under floor heating system is controlled by a time clock, it will automatically switch from night to day, please do not adjust the dials because this may cause it to malfunction.

Austrian Fire
Please light the fire in the evening if you wish but be aware that it's dangerous to close the oven door until the flames die down, this is because the pressure can build up. Logs can be gathered from the wood shed in the garden.

Parking
There is parking for 2 cars at the front of the house and a garage for another car with remote control door.

Conditions

If booking more than 8 weeks before arrival, please confirm your booking by sending a £250 per person deposit. Final payment must be paid no later than 8 weeks before your arrival date.

We will confirm your booking by email or in writing, providing a receipt for the amount paid. At this stage, a contract exists between you, the client, and ourselves, the owners of Chalet Peter. The ‘client’ is the lead name on the booking form. As such, the client is responsible for the final payment and communication of the terms and conditions to other adults in the party.

Cancellation policy
Cancellation must be made in writing and the following charges will apply:
Once you have paid the deposit it is non refundable
If you cancel less that 28 days before arrival the full weeks rent will be charged
If we have to cancel your holiday due to unforeseen circumstances we will provide a full and prompt refund.

Arrival
Arrival time is normally from 3pm local time. We will ensure that someone is available to meet and greet you on arrival, show you around and explain where everything is. Please give us a good indication of your likely time of arrival so that we can co ordinate this. We will provide a contact number so that you can confirm arrival in the event of delays. We can arrange transfer from Salzburg airport by a friendly and efficient local taxi driver who knows our house and will be able to take you directly to Chalet Peter. The cost for this is normally around 130 euros. You can alternatively get the train from Salzburg to Bruch which is one stop short of Zell am See and slightly closer to the house. The single train fare for an adult is 12 euros at this time.

Departure
Please let our representative know when you are leaving so the he can collect the keys, we do need to have the chalet vacated by 11 am so that we can prepare for incoming guests.

Insurance
We cannot accept liability for injury, accident or death whilst holidaying in Austria and staying at Chalet Peter.
It is advisable to obtain an E111 form prior to departure or EU reciprocal medical care.
Do check your holiday insurance for skiing including off piste.

The Austrian Alps / Salzburgerland region

Salzburg is one of the most beautiful cities Austria has to offer. Birthplace of Mozart, with the renowned Festival of music and theatre during July and August and many other cultural events throughout the year. Between the attractions are the castle, Mozart's birthplace, the Baroque architecture, the museums, not forgetting chocolate-eating (Mozart's chocolate for instance).

It's also a good base for exploring the lovely countryside of the Salzburgerland which rises to the Hohe Tauern Alpine National Park and Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner. The resort towns Zell am See, Badgastein, Saalbach and Hinterglem are excellent winter sports destinations but also ideal for summer in the mountains, all being set in spectacular and beautiful scenery.

The Zell Am See area

Chalet Peter is near the village of Bruck, 10 minutes from the centre of Zell am See. Bruck has numerous restaurants, supermarkets, a tourist information office and ski hire shop.

Chalet Peter is situated on the side of a beautiful valley with views of the Schmittenhohe, the main ski area of Zell am See. The Areitbahn cable car which takes you to the top of the mountain is only 10 minutes drive away and there is ample parking even in the height of the season right next to the lift. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier is accessed from nearby Kaprun and here you can ski all year round! Chalet Peter lies in the heart of the Europa Sportregion which includes the resorts of Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Leogang.

A pleasant walk from the house will take you to a special attraction not to be missed. The Kohlschnait sledge run provides 3 km of lit tobogganing, rubber ring sledging and an Apres Ski hut.

Zell am See is also a beautiful summer resort. The lake has a number of beaches and the water temperature reaches 22 c which is remarkable when you consider that it freezes over in the winter! One of the biggest attractions is the "Grossglockner high alpine road" which is visited by over 1 million guests each year.

Here you will find wonderful meadows with wild flowers and waterfalls. The Grossglockner is the highest mountain in Austria at 3798m. The whole area is paradise for mountain bikers and ramblers and bike rental is available in many locations. There is paragliding and white water rafting for the adventurous, as well as one of the finest golf courses in Austria.

Most visitors to Zell am See fly into Salzburg which is a 75 minute journey by road. There is also a very good and frequent train service.

If you are coming towards Zell am See on the B311 from Salzburg, you will see a timber mill called Heimhofer on the left, Take this left turn and cross the railway line and the river. Follow the road up the hill for about 300 meters, the road forks to the right towards the Rodelbahn but you must continue up the hill to the left for about another 30 meters. You will see a drive on the left leading to 2 houses, Chalet Peter is the second house.

Chalet Peter is available year round. Prices are per week and based on self catering. As from 28.09.13 all prices will include final cleaning, laundry and linen, sauna and outside hot tub jacuzzi. The only other charge is 1 Euro per person per day tourist tax for guests over 15 years.

We ask for a 300 Euro deposit on arrival which is returned after departure less any deductions for damage.
