About the home

Villa "Eleftheria" has two bedrooms, which each sleeps up to 3 guests. One bedroom has a large double bed and a single bed and the other bedroom has three single beds. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, with a shower and WC. Downstairs there is a kitchen, which is fully equipped with electric plates and oven, all cooking utensils, refrigerator with ice box, kettle, coffee machine and a big dining table that seats up to 6 people. Balcony has views of the surrounding forest and the sea. The house has air-conditioning and a washing machine. For your safety a fire extinguisher have been installed.

Within the farm, next to Vassilikos' pine forest, the Giannoulis family runs the "Lithies Taverna" the ideal place to enjoy a family meal with the very best ingredients. All dishes are prepared in the traditional way with pure ingredients, almost all of which are produced on the family farm. The excellent organic wine, both red and white, is also from the farms own vineyards.

They are also ideally placed for hiking and pleasant walks in the stunning surroundings, with maps available on request outlining suggested walking routes.

24 hour hot water, parking, maid service, air conditioning, washing machine (in some of the houses), baby cots available on request, garden, and fans.

Additional services include, car rentals, taxi arrangements and fax services.

Set in a beautiful forest location, the nearest superb beach being only 800m away. A supermarket is very close too (200m), so everything you could wish for is nearby.

Conditions

Every day cleaning and linen change at the end of your holiday are included in the price. Beach towels are not provided, please bring your own. Please do not use the apartment towels for either the beach.

A deposit of 10% is required on booking and the balance fee is to be paid upon arrival, or immediately if booking is made within 10 weeks of departure date.

The Ionian Islands region

Zante, also often known as Zakynthos, is the most southerly of the Ionian Islands and one of the most popular Greek islands. In the northwest you’ll experience its mountains and the traditional village life… in the centre of the island you’ll enjoy the scenery of a fertile plain, rich with olive groves and vineyards… in the southeast you’ll have the chance to relax in one of its beautiful beaches in the national marine park.

If you’re lucky you may have the chance to swim with a very common visitor in the summer months, the loggerhead turtle Caretta caretta, an endangered species only found in the Mediterranean Sea. They have chosen the sandy beaches of Zakynthos in the south to lay their eggs.

Sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, mountain villages, beautiful scenery, ancient treks, watersports, good quality restaurants, bars and night clubs… just a few examples of what you can experience in the island of Zakynthos.

The Zakynthos / Vassilikos area

Villa is set in large private grounds of 55,000 m2, in a forest location, within the borders of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, enjoying great sea views. It is run by an agricultural family, providing you the chance to enjoy many organic homemade products such as honey, wine, fresh fruit and vegetables. It is a dream, unspoilt place ideal for couples and families.

We have other houses offering accommodation for between 2 and 6 guests. They all benefit from a spacious private balcony with table and chairs to enable relaxation overlooking the surrounding forest and the sea. Vassilikos is an area on the South of the island which starts from Argasi and ends in Porto Roma and is characterised by lush vegetation and a series of sandy beaches; including Dafni, Sekania, Porto Zoro, Banana and St. Nikolas, an ideal place for watersports fans.Lithies houses are in the centre of Vassilikos, which boasts the best beaches on the island, such as Gerakas and Saint Nicholas. You will be spoilt for choice of which beach to visit!

We have a whole range of special activities on offer for our guests. You can watch how we make honey and if you are staying with us at the correct season you can also see how we produce our special olive oil and wine. Lithies is ideally placed for hiking and there is a range of pleasant walks in the stunning surroundings. We offer maps outlining our recommended walking routes. Our location is ideal for nature lovers and those seeking a relaxed pace of life.

St. Nikolas beach is walking distance from Lithies. Some of the beaches in Vassilikos are accessible by tracks so a car is often essential. These are amongst the quieter beaches on the island but well worth the off-road driving!

Driving around Vassilikos you’ll pass a number of relaxed and friend, densely populated villages. It’s an excellent choice for families and couples who want to stay away from touristic places. There are more than sufficient shops, bars and restaurants, many of them providing late-night entertainment.

Vassilikos is also a known reproduction site for the famous loggerhead turtle, Caretta caretta, which is under the supervision and protection of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos.

There is regular bus service to the town of Zakynthos. You may also easily rent cars, jeeps, motorcycles and bicycles. There is a taxi service also available.

The water temperatures range from 18º C in May to 22º in August making the island ideal for all sorts of watersports, including waterskiing, jetskiing, sailing, diving, parasailing, bananaboat and so on.

---Climate and Weather on Zakynthos ---

From May to October the summer is hot. In August and September the temperature rises up to over 35º C during the day, and with water temperatures of 22º C, beach fans are right in their element.From November to April the average daytime temperature is about 12-5º celsius - however when the sun comes out this can rapidly climb to 20º C. The winter is an ideal time for beach and country walks, sport and touring around the island.

Situated at a distance of 14 kilometres south-east to the town of Zakynthos, Lithies is only a few miles from the finest beaches in Zakynthos, the closest being 800 metres. Regular summer bus services available to and from Zakynthos Town. Car, bike rental services available as well as a taxi service.

There is an international airport a few miles outside the main town. Hire a car or take a taxi to Lithies House villas.

“Great accommodation for families loving nature” Roomy house located in an olive tree farm. This is the real, natural Greek feeling, but don't be surprised to be woken up at 8 latest due to the roosters and donkeys.
