Zakynthos / Akrotiri area

Akrotiri is a three hill complex situated on the southeast part of the island. Just one mile from Zakynthos town and a mile from Tsilivi beach resort. Considered to be one of the most beautiful and convenient parts of the island for many locals and travelers alike. A combination of amazing views, unspoiled beauty, tranquility,nature trails, nearby beaches and rich history.
Bohali hill
This is the main and most populated hill (and village) Bohali, it is a piece of local history and beauty. With the walls of its Venetian castle overlooking Zakynthos town and harbor from the east and the valley from the north.
Strani hill.
The smallest but arguably the richest in history hill on the island. Birthplace and place of inspiration for the Greek national poet Dionisios Solomos. The old family mansion is still there alongside cannons and statues dating as far back as Venetian times,all among beautiful gardens and northeast facing views of the Zakynthian valley.
Frido hill
The biggest, highest and best preserved of the three hills.With only a handful of villas,there is a real rural feel to the place yet it is so close to the town.Nature trails leading to beautiful hidden rocky beaches, thru olive groves with trees as old as half a millennium and orchards. English fiction writer Edgar Allan Poe use to walk these trails a long time ago looking for inspiration.From here you can enjoy uninterrupted views to the mainland and the neighboring islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca on the east and the valley and Zakynthian mountains on the west side of the hill.

How to get there

Most major European airlines hold daily flights to the island from May the first until the end of October.Also all year round Olympic airways has daily flights via Athens.
Ferry crossing is also available all year round several times per day from the port of Kilini and twice a week from the island of Kefalonia.Also direct ferries from Italy are available during august on a regular basis.
Motorbikes and cars are necessary to move about as it does get too hot to walk especially during peak season(july-early September).and are largely available from all major (Hertz,Avis,Eurocar etc.)and local rental companies.

Villa Lydia is built on two levels.On the ground floor guests will find a fully equipped kitchen and dining area,the lounge with a real fire place and hand made sofa and sofa bed and a bathroom/shower room.Up the stairs we have the master bedroom with handcrafted cast iron king size bed and its en suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and a balcony with fantastic views.On the same floor we have a twin bedroom with also en suite bathroom/shower room.All rooms have air condition and television.

The exterior of the villa has a stone patio/veranda with stone built sofa on the front of the property and at the back a large wooden decked veranda overlooking the swimming pool and enjoying lovely views of the surrounding nature and the sea.There is also a 300+square meter private garden that makes a great playground for children and grownups alike.

All baby equipment such as highchair,playpen,cot etc is provided for no extra cost upon request.
The villa has a sofa bed in the lounge so two more persons can be accommodated also upon request and by adding a premium to the daily rental rate.
Minimum rental time is one week.The standard method on securing a booking is as follows although exceptions can be made
Following a request for a villa we will hold the property for 7 days, allowing time for us to receive a 30% non refundable advance payment. If confirmation payment is not received during the time, the property will be released for booking.
70% (plus whatever extras i.e. extra guests premium) 4 weeks prior to the first day of the booking.
We require an additional 500 euros (refundable) deposit to be paid locally on arrival in case of any damage to the property.
The payments are done via your bank directly to our account here.We do not accept personal cheques,traveler cheques or online payment for security reasons.

Conditions

Smokers-We recognize that for a lot of people smoking is an issue.So although smoking is strictly not allowed inside the premises we do provide ashtrays so you can smoke at the verandas and garden areas.
Pet owners-although again we do have a no pets policy,arrangements can be made for keeping some pets (i.e. guide dogs) at the garden area.
Long terms lets are available during low season (late October to late April).Please contact us for further details.
