Zakynthos is the “Flower of the Orient” – an island of exceptional beauty, the west is characterised by striking mountain scenery and is largely uninhabited and the east is packed with fertile plains, picturesque bays and long sandy beaches. The island has a mild climate which is typically Mediterranean, hot in the summer and mild in the winter. The mild winters and winter rainfalls help with the lush green countryside. The island has pine clad mountains, olive, citrus groves and vineyards. There are many hidden coves and superb sandy beaches, such as the famous “Shipwreck Beach” to contrast with the beautiful greek countryside.
Zakynthos / Kalamaki Village area
Kalamaki is a quiet yet sophisticated resort with one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. Part of the beach is restricted for turtles to use as a breeding ground. It is a nice sandy beach. There are several restaurants and bars in Kalamaki where you can while away the night dining and dancing. Just 3km away is Lagana, a very popular resort where you can enjoy the nightlife, and just 5 km away is Zakynthos, the capital town.
How to get there
There are direct flights from all major UK, Irish and European airports. There are daily flights from Athens Airport with Olympic Airlines (45 min flight). There is also a good ferry service with regular daily sailings between Zakynthos and mainland Greece.

Downstairs the kitchen is fully fitted. Living room has a pull out corner sofa, coffee table, tv/dvd. There is also a storage cupboard downstairs which has shelves, ironing board etc.
