About the home

The location of the Kalamaki Villa in a private secure complex with other holiday villas is situated in the popular resort of Kalamaki, surrounded by olive groves typical of the Greek countryside and only a 10 minute walk to the centre of the resort and beautiful crystal clear waters of the Kalamaki beach. Tavernas and shops are within a few minutes walk from the complex so a car is not necessary.

The villa is tastefully decorated and fully equipped to make your stay enjoyable. In the kitchen there is a fridge freezer, washing machine, hob and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and all crockery and utensils you will need. The lounge has a sofa (sofa bed), coffee table and TV & DVD player, in the kitchen section is the dining area with table plus 4 chairs for dining indoors and also an outdoor table and chairs on the veranda leading from the patio doors in the lounge overlooking the swimming pool & lovely gardens.

The villa has one large double bedroom accommodating 2 persons plus if required also two young children (under the age of 10 yrs) can be accommodated on the double sofa bed.

Kalamaki is a family style holiday resort, 4 km from the traditional Greek town of Zakynthos and 3 km from Zante airport.
The 8 km long beach at Kalamaki has a sandy beach and crystal-clear waters. The beach of Kalamaki is also the renowned reproduction area for the famous Caretta sea turtle, which can been seen during the summer months swimming in the clear blue waters.

Holidaymakers that come to Kalamaki return year after year as the resort provides a wonderful location with its lovely beach, variety of local tavernas, restaurants, bars and shops.

The Ionian Islands region

The Ionian Islands are located in the Ionian Sea, off the west coast of Greece and are composed of Corfu, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Lefkada, Ithaca, Paxos and Kythira. The islands are well known for their beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, charming villages and stunning scenic countryside which is verdant and flourishing with greenery and nature. The Zakynthos / Kalamaki Village area

The beautiful Greek island of Zakynthos is known also as Zante.

Zákynthos is a verdant island endowed with fertile valleys and a temperate climate (area: 406 sq. km; coastline: 123 km). Its landscape diversity has resulted in different types of beaches: there are sandy beaches in secluded coves where the tranquil waters are deep blue on the island's southeastern part; yet, if rugged cliffs and an interesting underwater world are to your liking, try the western part of the island.

The Venetians, who ruled Zákynthos from 1484 to 1797, called the island “Fioro di Levante” (flower of the East) as there are over 7,000 species of flowers on Zákynthos.

On Zante, great care is taken to protect two endangered animal species, namely the caretta caretta sea turtle and the monachus monachus seal which can been seen during the summer months in the crystal blue waters around the island.

This villa set in the lovely Kalamaki Court in the unspoilt resort of Kalamaki with its beautiful sandy beaches and friendly locals. The surrounding countryside and olive groves are breathtaking against the mountainous backdrop and are ideal for a stroll or cycle ride.

The resort centre has a good choice of bars, shops, traditional Greek tavernas and restaurants offering international food.

Also the famous Blue Cave and the Smugglers Wreck (Navaggio) is an accurate representation of the island around the world and some of the most visited sights. You can choose to sunbathe and swim in crystal clear waters of the sea, diving or a cruise around the island, mountain expedition or just relaxation and quiet atmosphere here.

BY PLANE

Zakynthos has one airport (airport code ZTH).

During the holiday season (May-October) there are chartered flights daily from almost all European cities.

Scheduled Flights - Easy Jet Airlines fly direct from London Gatwick 3 times per week from the end of March to beginning of November each year.

Ryan Air fly direct from Brussels to Zakynthos from May until September each year.Domestic flights are available between Zakynthos airport and Athens , served by the national airline Olympic Airlines.

BY BUS

There are daily bus services from Athens & Patras - the national bus company (KTEL) www.ktel.org
The trip Athens - Kyllini lasts around 4 hours. From Kyllini there is ferry boat to Zakynthos 1 hour and 15 minutes.

CAR/FERRY

If you travel by car, you can reach us VIA ITALY (Venice, Trieste, Ancona, Bari, Brindisi) on the ferry www.allgreekferries.com (18 hour crossing from Ancona) or ferry operators for Patras. From Patras is 1 hour drive by car or bus to Kyllini port in which you can get the ferry to Zakynthos.
