Need somewhere to celebrate? Weddings, graduations, hen nights, family birthdays or several families wanting to holiday together - put these two villas together and you have the essential ingredients for the best house party. All sorts of possibilities are opened up when these two villas, a matter of two minutes away from each other, either side of the swimming pool are rented together.

Both houses have magnificent views from their terraces and decks, their own eating areas inside and outside, and yet at Tal Hamsa there is room everyone to feast together on the top terrace. Even, on the rare occasion in low season when it rains, the Tal Hamsa spacious living room with its two seating areas and the large table can cater buffet style for the guests that these two villas can sleep! The kitchen is more than equipped to feed 22 guests inside - 2 fridge freezer, an ice cream deep freeze plus a small drinks fridge are an enormous help and if you cannot BBQ, the large oven comes in very useful.

With such a large party, finding some chill out areas is no problem. With its various terraces, little romantic hideaways (out of sight from other guests) but always with dramatic views, you cannot beat Tal Hamsa.

Tal Hamsa, & the Pink House, perched on a steep hill side not only have spectacular sea views but generally benefit from a refreshing breeze. This, with the combination of balconies, terraces and shaded hideaways makes it easier to escape from the intense heat of high Summer. All bedrooms have air-conditioning. For the sun lovers there are masses of sun beds on the large deck area around the pool and other secluded spots elsewhere..

On the other hand, the large living room with its open fireplace upstairs provide a perfect refuge for the cooler nights of early Summer & Autumn. This is the time for the energetic who wish to enjoy the astroturf tennis court - for the fit only a two minute walk away cutting through the garden (We can supply rackets)

Here teenagers can chill out or take over the Pink House with their favourite music, mothers of toddlers can enjoy the sun or shade while their young are in the crèche (which was made by the owner for his grandchildren) and grandparents can either watch from the private balcony of Tal Hamsa's master bedroom or escape to the Pink House and get away from everyone!

The Port of Aghios Nikolas - 7 minutes away in one direction and 9 minutes in the other direction - with its super market, filling station, tourist shop, tavernas, beach with free sun beds even has a taverna right on the beach. From this fantastically located taverna, wonderfully good value local wine can be bought and deliveries of meat and fish arranged from the little supermarket as well as local vegetables and freshly baked bread. All you have to do is ask and even a taxi service can be arranged if you do not feel like driving!

In the other direction, after passing many tavernas and one restaurant, there is a long beach, Makri Gialos with the usual umbrellas and pedalos.

About this location

The Ionian Islands region

The island of Zakynthos claims to have more sun than any other Greek island and yet thanks to the Winter rain, this island once called 'The wood island' by Homer, is far from arid. While in the South it is flat and very developed, the north is rural, with striking mountains with sweet smelling pine forest and on the foothills fields of wild time and rosemary drop dramatically into the Ionian.

Northern Zakynthos, with its abundance of olive groves, epitomises the charming and laid back style of Greek rural living and you may see a goat half way up a tree!

From Micro Nisi and Aghios Nikolas, you can rent various boats and explore little cove and beaches, or snorkle in azure clear water. For young children wishing to 'bucket & spade' Alikes and Alikanas (25 minutes away) offer long sandy beaches and the usual beach attractions, (windsurfers, pedalos, water skiing, etc)

Enjoy the marine life with a glass bottomed boat or visit the famous 'Shipwreck Bay' from the sea or enjoy this spectacular sight from the cliff top viewing platform - if you are brave!

Visit the hill town of Volimes, centre of the island's weaving industry where charming local pottery and other souveirs can be bought at very reasonable prices. There are a variety of tavernas and one seriously beautiful restaurant owned by Sophia who also runs te Art Cafe just outside the Port of Aghios Nikolas. This is a quirky meeting place for young and old. Sophia has filled it with her ow works of art, this includes life size papier mache statues, exotic jewellery and highly original paintings. She also has a multitude of hot chocolate in the Winter and wonderful cocktails in the Summer!

The famous luxurious Peligoni Club is just outside the Port of Aghios Nikolas and not only offers first class facilities for the sporting, but has an excellent restaurant and two bars.
