Home description
Its enviable setting in an elevated position within Zante’s National Marine Park (rental villas within the National Park are few and far between due to recent conservation laws) gives it almost 360º of stunning panoramic sea views - across the bay in one direction, over the valley in another and towards the harbour and Kefalonia in yet another.
The villa itself stands in four acres of lovely gardens and grounds at the end of a private country lane and is not overlooked. Surrounded by lawns, flowering shrubs, pine and citrus trees, it provides a peaceful, private and secluded oasis - yet has the convenience of being only a five minute drive from huge sandy beaches and a vast selection of restaurant, tavernas and shops.
The main terrace is south facing and sunny and is covered with flowering shrubs. It leads onto the pool terrace with its substantial infinity pool(12m x 4.5m), shady pergola, built-in barbecue and drinks cooler. The views from the terrace are stunning. To the side of the villa is another terrace with a tented roof and full size dining table and chairs, providing a perfect place for eating with its fabulous backdrop of the bay on one side and the harbour and Zante Town on the other. There is also a third, raised terrace in the garden from where you can catch some spectacular sunsets whilst enjoying a pre-dinner drink (after all, it’s not called a ‘sundowner’ for nothing!).

The Ionian Islands region
Geographically the island is the most southern of the six Ionian Islands and is located off western mainland Greece. It has a Mediterranean climate with long hot summers and warm wet winters (making it very green and fertile).
Zakynthos, or Zante as it is more commonly known, is also referred to as the ‘Flower of the Ionian’ in recognition of the island’s exceptional beauty. The locals are renowned for their true Greek hospitality, which no doubt accounts for why so many holidaymakers return to the island time and time again.
Zakynthos / Kalamaki Village area
Zakynthos is proud to be the first Marine Park protected area in the Mediterranean due to its beaches being the chosen nesting place of the caretta caretta (turtles).
As a result, all development is forbidden, allowing the villa to enjoy wonderful solitude whilst at the same time benefiting from the convenience of nearby beaches and resorts.
The capital Zakynthos Town with its shops, museums, restaurants, bars and outdoor cinema, is architecturally extremely attractive and full of the influence and culture of its Italian ancestors.
How to get there

Guestbook for Villa Elia
“A superb villa - more like a home than a holiday rental. It had an upmarket feel and was beautifully situated. The English couple who looked after the property were very friendly & welcoming, highly efficient, and very knowledgeable about the island and its culture.” Mrs E D, Sheffield
“An absolutely perfect location. If you have ever dreamed of staying in a lovely villa set in your own hilltop grounds bathed in Greek sunshine, with fabulous views and total privacy, then this is the place for you! A spacious, comfortable villa with room to wander around inside and out. The huge paved terraces and large, clean pool were superb. Would love to go back again!” Mrs J H, Berkshire
