The sound of the surf, whispering wind moving shimmering leaves, the scent of wild flowers and herbs stimulated all your senses on arrival. What good therapy for stress, sit here and just take it all in and your troubles will just float away in this perfect location. The 5 holiday homes are set in a new african-mediterranean style building that nestles in pastures between mature trees only 50 metres from the beach. You have private access to the beach via a short track that passes beautiful horses and the odd chicken and turkey. The Beach is wide and sandy with a few rock pool areas to explore and washed clean twice a day by a pristine deep blue Atlantic ocean. This definitely is a piece of secret Spain.
Zahora Beach - 3000 metres long and 40 metres wide – is in the Cape of Trafalgar (next to the Caños de Meca). The beach, with its fine sand and ideal wind conditions, is perfect for Windsurfing, Sailing and, occasionally, Surf and Bodyboard. The beach starts in the area of Mangueta where, in the middle of the last century, the old Civil Guards Headquarters used to be located (the building has since been knocked down) and it comes to an end at the famous Trafalgar Lighthouse.
Besides the wonderful sunsets, the most spectacular aspect of this beach is the huge reef that appears at low tide, together with the formation of an enormous lagoon with shallow water, where the youngest members of the family can enjoy bathing in complete safety. Fishing is also very popular on this beach, especially on the reef mentioned above.
Without doubt, Zahora is an ideal place to spend a holiday, whether as a family, with a partner, or unaccompanied. The area offers all essential services, thus ensuring nobody is in need of anything. The beauty of Zahora can be appreciated from all angles. A leisurely stroll at dusk, the breathtaking sunset, a restful siesta and the abundance of nature make Zahara a perfect place to spend some unforgettable days. Quality of life in abundance.
Zahora is the perfect base for discovering the charms of the province of Cádiz and the Costa de la Luz. Located in the centre of the coast of Cádiz, there are nearby destinations of great interest that are barely an hour's drive away; such as Tarifa, Vejer, Conil or Zahara de los Atunes...
Location: for those who want get away from the hustle and bustle of the big resorts. You may be tempted to stock up with food, hide your car keys and spend all your time relaxing within the environs of your holiday home, however there is so much to do and see. You can be in the heart of old Cadiz in 40 min or sitting in a bar on top of the world in one of the famous 'Pueblos Blancos' white hill towns, sipping the famous local sherries. There are three in close proximity, Medina Sidonia, famous for the Duke of Medina who led the Armada against England. Arcos de la Frontera, where they make tasty sweets and cakes. Vejer, where you can see the Atlas mountains of Africa across the sea.
Activities: If you ever get tired of sight seeing you can enjoy activities like golf, sailing, surfing, fishing and horse riding to name just a few of the pursuits open to those of an energetic nature. Of course whilst you decide how to spend your days, you can have a dip in the sea, followed up by a barbecue using the traditional stone charcoal oven, and sip your cool sangria under a shaded area and perhaps that this is all you want to do.
CASARA is 5 minutes from the Natural Park of Acantilado and Pinar de Barbate. It is an authentic, ecological treasure of the area. It is a forest that was created artificially at the end of the 19th century after carrying out a reforestation process, in order to preserve the dry, sandy earth.
However, the park is not just a forest; it also boasts a coast line of considerable natural and scenic value and majestic cliffs, up to 100 metres high, which provide shelter to a great representation of Mediterranean avifauna. The Natural Park of Acantilado and Pinar de Barbate is not too big to explore and it is possible to plans all types of excursions: on foot, by bike or on horse.
Visitors cannot miss making a trip to the Torre de Meca, situated to the west of the park. The watchtower, 170 metres high, stands on the summit of the mountain with the same name. The tower can be reached by following the old Barbate road (that circles the mountain before joining the current local road which runs from Caños to Barbate) and taking a right-turn at the summit.
Another option is to continue on as far as the Torre del Tajo. There are two ways to reach the tower: either by road, turning right at a signposted turning before reaching Barbate, or from Los Caños, by walking through the pine forest, going along the edge of the cliffs up to the tower. The area of the Tajo is especially interesting. Fences have been placed on the cliffs and from this height visitors are offered the opportunity to contemplate the wonderful view: the vastness of the sea, the reefs under the cliffs, the coast of Barbate and Zahara and, on clear days, it is possible to make out the coast of northern Africa, from Tangier to Yebel Musa.
Cádiz is the province with the highest number of protected areas in the whole of Andalusia. Birds are the most characteristic animals in the province, since it is on the path of the great migrations towards Africa. Many of the species are in danger of extinction and the natural parks allow the birds to reproduce in an ideal environment.

The Andalucia region
Zahora is the perfect base for discovering the charms of the province of Cádiz and the Costa de la Luz. Located in the centre of the coast of Cádiz, there are nearby destinations of great interest that are barely an hour's drive away; such as Barbate, Vejer, Conil, Tarifa or Zahara de los Atunes...
Casara is located in Zahora and it has a strategic location. Zahora beach is one of the most unspoiled and beautiful beaches in the whole of Spain and it has 3 of the most importantances and typical Cádiz towns in less than 15 kms: Barbate, Vejer and Conil.
Barbate: Imagine a paradise where times stopos and golden beaches welcome you, right reside the Strait of Gibraltar and Gateway to Morocco. Enrich your mind with archeological ruins, evidence of ancient wisdom and civilisations. Experience the almadrabas, an art form derived from a living tradition. Let yourself be taken prisoner by the walls, towers and castles a testament to the strategic nature of the town and its greatness; they survive despite the passage of time; the lasting identity of these streets. Enjoy festivals and celebrations inherited from time immemorial and let your senses run wild with the rich and varied cuisine, carefully prepared by renowned bars and restaurants.
Vejer is a Moorish looking hilltop town (190 metres above sea level) a place of white-washed houses, narrow winding streets, excellent food and wine and the unspoilt beaches of the Costa de la Luz are only a 10-15 minute drive away.
Today Vejer is a picturesque town still retaining much of the wall around the old part of town which blends in well with the newer part. Many of the streets are too narrow for cars and as you walk around if you look through an open doorway you are likely to see beautiful inner patios with lots of flowers and plants. The main square is Plaza de Espana pictured below with its beautiful fountain. Many parts of the town have views to the sea and you can even see the Moroccan coast on a clear day.
Conil is in the heart of a coastal areas, it is home to places of great interest and charm, such as the long, white, sandy beaches, the cliffs and pine groves such as the one in Roche. Conil's economy is traditionally based on fishing, mainly tuna, sole, red mullet, sea bream. The surrounding area is rich in fruit farming and horticulture.
It is in a magnificent location overlooking the sea and surrounded by thick pine groves. It is one of the coastal towns with the greatest tourist activity. In the summer, open-air dances are held every night, which has led to the growth of residential complexs and camping sites in the surrounding area.

"Fantastic private place by the beach"
Beautiful and confortable house with all ammenities included and with a private access to the beach. Quite and beautiful location, with garden and terrace. The beach is clean and quite, and has 2 great chill out bars where you can eat, have a drink and see the perfect sunset. I had a great time and will definitely repeat again!!

"Great place to stay"
Casara met the high expectations, the service was very good. Contact and handover of keys and house were simple and very flexible. All that stood in the description was also available. Casara is a very nice facility with plenty of space and wonderful to relax. We stayed in the "Tower", a tower with 3 floors and one room per floor. The house is beautifully designed and furnished. The house has wifi that you can remain in touch with your home country, if you want. The sea can be reached on foot in 2 minutes. The 3-kilometer-long sandy beach we used for running in the morning, in the afternoon to relax. Since we were in the off season, we had the beach almost to ourself. For us it was a very relaxing week in a great atmosphere and with fantastic sunrises and sunsets.

"Lovely little seaside escape"
We really enjoyed our stay at Casara. We stayed in casara dos which is a small tower with one small double bedroom (with views of the sea), a living room, bathroom and small kitchen, all laid out over 3 floors. It's compact but perfect for a couple. The other casara apartments neighbour this one, but it's still very quite and there is lots of outdoors space around each apartment meaning that you are not on top of each other. The owner Sara was really great to deal with, very responsive and everything was clearly laid out and arranged for our stay. It was just a short 5 minute (max!) walk to a lovely beach and there were a could of little local restaurants within a 10-15minite walk. The area is very quiet so it's perfect for anyone trying to get away from it all and just relax. If you want something luxurious or bustling/with an array or restaurants or bars on your door step then this isn't for your.
