The Zagreb Region

Welcome to Zagreb, the capital city of the Republic of Croatia. Zagreb is an old Central European city. For centuries it has been a focal point of culture and science, and now of commerce and industry as well. It lies on the intersection of important routes between the Adriatic coast and Central Europe.

When the Croatian people achieved their independence in 1991, Zagreb became a capital - a political and administrative centre for the Republic of Croatia. Zagreb is also the hub of the business, academic, cultural, artistic and sporting worlds in Croatia. Many famed scientists, artists and athletes come from the city, or work in it. Zagreb can offer its visitors the Baroque atmosphere of the Upper Town, picturesque open-air markets, diverse shopping facilities, an abundant selection of crafts and a choice vernacular cuisine. Zagreb is a city of green parks and walks, with many places to visit in the beautiful surroundings. In spite of the rapid development of the economy and transportation, it has retained its charm, and a relaxed feeling that makes it a genuinely human city.

Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall is the largest concert hall in Zagreb for a diverse program with Saturday specialities. A large lobby doubles as an exhibition area.

Nikola Šubi? Zrinski Square (Zrinjevac) is a square and park in the central part of Zagreb, spread over an area of 12,540 square meters (135,000 sq ft). In the middle of the park is a music pavilion built in 1891.

"Enjoyable leisure stay with home feel"

The apartment is really nice, tastefully decorated. It is pretty close to the city with about 5 minutes' walking distance. Located behind Lisinski concert hall, the enivronment of the apartment is quiet, peaceful and safe, though the exterior of some houses nearby need repair or renovation. My family loves to stay in the apartment again if we ever visit Zagreb again. I owe Mr. Davor a sincere apology as I have left him waiting for us for more than 2 hours at the apartment as we had been taken to the close down Lisinski Hotel by the taxi driver and then transferred to the Movie Hotel by another mistake where Mr. Davor got us and saved us from further hiccup. The lesson learnt is that we must not take for granted that what the taxi driver knew was the same as your exact address.

"Quite, Clean, Modern, Accessible"

We came to Zagreb for 3 weeks to participate in a seminar. Did not want to stay in a hotel and needed 2 separate bedrooms. We chose this property because it was near our tram line and we liked the decor. In the end, it was perfect for us--a home away from home. located next to Lisinski concert hall, we also went to 2 concerts while there. The landlord was sweet and accommodating and you are just 5-6 min away from a local shopping mall and the main train station. It is said that the downtown is just a 15 min walk. We found out that Croatians walk very fast--maybe that is why there are bakeries at every corner and most people are slim.... at any rate, for us walking to the center took more like 25 min. You can also take a tram. Be aware that the bus coming from the airport can stop for you right at the corner of Lisinski--ask for detailed directions from that bus station to the apartment. You also have a parking place if you come with a car. Enjoy!
