Home description
In the north-west of Montenegro, beautiful plateau called Jezerska visoravan ( Lakes’ plateau) spreads below the Durmitor mouintain, and right here with a view both on the plateau and Durmitor, this chalet is placed.
The village, in which area this house is built, is called Virak (vir - the spring of water, and because one of them this village got its name). Here you will have all of peace and quiet you need, and it’s just five minutes ride from the nearest town Zabljak. Ski lifts are at a walking distances, and if you need either ski school services, or ski equipment to hire, we can arrange any of these for you.
This cozy wooden house can be rented at any time of year and accommodates up to eight people. Three bedrooms are on the second floor, two with two beds and one with three. The whole house is heated with a stove on coal and wood, that gives the house a special atmosphere.
Beautiful landscapes, clean air and surroundings will make your holiday just perfect. Here you will encounter traditional ways of preparing food, interesting customs and very hospitable people.

The Northern Montenegro / Zabljak region
It’s very difficult not to be delighted with beautiful wild nature that is the main characteristic of this region. Zabljak (1456 m), the central town of this area, is connected with other parts and regions of Montenegro via three main roads. Restaurants with national cuisine, hotels, market place, supermarkets, bars and pubs, internet caffe characterize this small tourist centre.
It is not accidental for Zabljak to present high potential for development of tourism. The advantage of two tourist seasons (Winter and Summer)and potential health tourism, ensure Zabljak and the region to be interesting tourist destination throughout all year.
National park Durmitor that spreads over this area ensures the protection of this amazing nature, its beautiful woods, lakes and rivers. The canyon of TARA river is the deepest in Europe and after Colourado’s canyon second deepest in the world (up to 1300 m deep, and up to 80 km long ). This is one of the most well known rafting destinations.
The amount and characteristics of these natural potentials, ensured for Durmitor region and TARA river protection of UNESCO, since 1980.
Therefore, this region is not only tourist oriented but also oriented towards the production and preservation of all ecological. Montenegro, declared as ecological via Declaration of the Ecological State Montenegro, finds its centre as such, in this region.
Zabljak Town / Virak area
If you like hiking or cycling, Summer is a perfect time of year. There are many lakes, springs and caves to see and many peaks to climb at. At the winter time, though the chalet is at the walking distance from the best ski tracks and lifts in the area, skiing, boarding and having fun on snow is aomething that zou will enjoy the most. Ski equipment and ski instructors can be very easily found.
SKI INSTRUCTOR Rade at: sarovicrade@gmail.com , will make this sport more enjoyable, but also find suitable ski equipment for you - if you want to organize your things on time.
WE ALSO ORGANIZE POPULAR TOURIST TOURS - THE DURMITOR RING, TOURS THROUGH MONTENEGRO, TRANSPORT TO TARA RIVER FOR RAFTING. IF INTERESTED CONTACT THE OWNER ABOUT ANY OF THESE.
Bobotov Kuk (at 2523 metres above the sea) is the highest point of Durmitor mountain. Thanks to marked ways and local guides, this and 23 other peaks above 2000 metres are reachable for mountaineers and adventurers.
But if you are a bit lazy you can achieve Savin Kuk (2132 metres) using cable chair lift, where beside the amazing view, you can drink water from a spring Savina voda, located very close to the highest point of this peak.
18 natural lakes, caves (the Ice Cave for example, with amazing ice sculptures), and of coarse canyons of rivers Tara and Sushica are really worth visiting.
In visiting this place you will for sure feel the real peace, tradition connected with modern life, an astounding nature, nice highlanders, and you will let the unpleasant thoughts be bygone

IF YOU WISH AN ORGANISED, QUICK AND SAFE TRANSPORT FROM THE AIRPORT, CONTACT THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY.
If you decide to travel by plane, than the best way is to have a flight to Podgorica’s airport . From Podgorica there are two roads that will bring you to Zabljak: one that is going through Nikshic and Savnik town and accross the Lake’s plateau (where the house is) straight to Zabljak; and the other one is going through the canyon of Moraca river to the town Kolašin, pass the Mojkovac town and than out of that canyon area into Zabljak. There is about 3 hours ride from Podgorica to Zabljak, no matter which of these two roads you take. Of coarse, you can also arrive at Tivat’s or Dubrovnik’s airport, from which it is easy to come to Podgorica, and than to Zabljak
If you decide to take a flight to some of the airports in Serbia, there is also a highway that through Pljevlja town (just 1h30min from Žabljak, and less than hour from the border with Serbia) will lead you towards the house. We can also organize for you transport from airports of Podgorica or Tivat.
If you are coming to Zabljak from direction Pljevlja (Tara Bridge), in the town centre road ends at T-intersection. Turn left to Savnik. This is also a road to ski centre "Savin Kuk". When you exit Zabljak, after driving out of the small forest, follow the sign for the ski centre "Savin Kuk", pointing to the right.
About three kilometres after this branching, just after the final intersection before the ski centre, you will see your log house ahead and to your left. Make sure you don't turn right at this intersection, that's the road to ski lifts - the house is practically off the road you are on.
