About the home

Dinan Cottage is a cosy cottage designed for an intimate French break for two or four persons including bed settee in lounge. Sleeping accommodation is in a double bedroom on the first floor, complete with fitted carpets, wardrobe and bedside units enhanced by reading lamps. The bathroom with full size bath and shower tap attachment, hand-basin is on the first floor as well as the separate toilet. On the ground floor there is a fully fitted kitchen, with fridge, washing machine, toaster, microwave oven, coffee maker to complement the electric cooker with full oven and hob. In traditional French style, the kitchen is part of the family living room. The sitting room area is comfortably furnished with a three-piece suite/bed settee as well as the dining suite.
There is a door from the kitchen area which leads out to the graveled court yard, there is also a pair of double doors from the lounge area leading on to the patio, which makes this cottage very light and airy.

To add to your enjoyment we are delighted to provide the property with a barbecue and traditional wooden picnic table, which can be used on the large grassy area. This pleasant facility can be most relaxing on a hot day when there is shelter to be accessed from the mature oak trees on the grounds.
Dinan cottage is idealy situated for people who like to walk around the quite country lanes and enjoy the views of the country side, it is also ideal for keen cyclists.

The Brittany / Cotes-D'Armor region

Occupying the rugged north western tip of France, Brittany is the wildest and most untamed of all the French regions. Buffeted by the Atlantic Ocean and the English Channel, the coastline is strewn with lighthouses, rocky coves, windswept heaths, sheltered beaches and charismatic seaside villages.

Brittany did not become part of France until 1547. This independence, along with its relative isolation from the rest of the country, has created a distinctive Breton culture, language and heritage closely related to those of Scotland, Cornwall and Ireland.

A temperate climate in the north; north-western areas have a more continental climate with warm summers and colder winters. Rainfall is distributed throughout the year with some snow likely in winter, below is a listing of the average daily temperatures for the region.

The Yvignac-la-Tour / Les Brousses area

Les Brousses is a quiet, rural hamlet in beautiful and varied Côtes d'Armor. Located approximately 15km from medieval Dinan, 40 minute drive from the walled city of St Malo and the beautiful sandy beaches of Sables d'Or, St Jacut, Lancieux, Dinard and St Cast. Local activities are Fishing in nearby lake, cycling and walking. Near by Broons have a swimming pool, supermarket and also a weekly market.

Dinan cottage was very comfortable
I visited Dinan which is only 15minutes drive, with its historic buildings and cobbled street leading down to the river rance.
I found Derek and Joan very helpful and looking forward to seeing them again.
