About the home

This cosy cottage has a great central location in the heart of Youlgrave, close to the popular market town of Bakewell. It has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a very good standard and has retained many of its original features. The cottage has many walks, cycle routes and bridleways right from the doorstep and is within a few yards from the local village amenities. The cottage has an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area and an attractive multi fuel burning stove for those cosy nights in. The local village pub offer excellent value for money and provides good home cooked food and real ales all within easy reach.

The Heart of England / Peak District / Peak District/Derbyshire region

The Peak District and Derbyshire is a contrast of high rolling moorland, craggy outcrops and picture post card vales and valleys with 'chocolate box' villages.
The whole area is dominated by Britain's first national park; The Peak District National Park which has been catering for visitors for many years. It's easy to get around with a good network of roads and excellent public transport.
There are many places of interest including some lovely towns and villages such as Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne as well as historical attractions like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.
To the north of the region is the High Peak, with miles of heather moorland and great country walks and cycling.

The Youlgreave area

The village of Youlgrave is located close to the popular market town of Bakewell, it has many interesting walks and cycles routes in and around the area offering some of Derbyshire's truly stunning scenery. Bakewell is only a stone's throw away and has a weekly market selling local produce every Monday in the town centre and has a number of cafes, pubs and restaurants in and around the town. There are many villages in the area all unique in their own right displaying some of the Peak Districts most amazing landscape and some full of history such as Eyam, famous for the plague and Castleton for its caves and Blue John mining. Matlock, Buxton, Hartington and Ashbourne are to name but a few of the many interesting towns and villages in the area and all within easy reach and well worth a visit.
