Located only two minutes walk from York Minster, 7 Aspire is a top-floor apartment in a newly-built development. The 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment has been fitted and furnished to the highest standard to ensure your stay is both memorable and enjoyable. Much attention to detail has been spent in ensuring everything you may need has been provided.

New for 2014. Following feedback from our guests, we have installed full air conditioning in the bedrooms and living area. So when it is warm and muggy outside, guests will now be able to relax in comfort, no matter what the weather.

Access to the property is via lift/stairs from a secure entrance adjacent to a handy Sainsburys Local supermarket. Our meet and greet service will meet you at the ground floor entrance, will give you the Parking Permit if required (allowing free parking in the Bootham Row public car park adjacent to the property), and will take you up to the apartment on the third floor, to show you around.

The main living space includes a kitchen, dining area, and an area to relax. The fully-fitted kitchen is equipped with all the appliances you would expect. Naturally the kitchen includes all the cutlery, crockery, glassware, utensils and cookware that you are likely to need. The dining-area seats 4 in comfort with an oak and leather dining suite. The lounge provides seating for 4 and includes a state-of-the-art wide-screen 3D high-definition television. The television is tuned to receive both Freeview and Freesat TV channels, delivering over 300 English-language TV, text and radio channels, and 60 foreign-language TV and radio channels. Attached to the television is a 3D Blu-ray player capable of playing all formats of pre-recorded disk; a library of Blu-ray and DVD disks are provided for guest use. Moreover, a selection of books and board games are provided, to keep you going if the television gets boring! For those that need to keep connected to the outside world, the apartment is fitted with wi-fi, and the main television includes high-definition Skype camera connectivity if you need to keep in touch with friends or family. There is a handy wireless-induction Powermat to keep your mobile devices charged in the event you forget to bring a charger.

The main bedroom includes a king-size bed, bed-side cabinets and built-in wardrobe and drawers. A hair-dryer, hair-straighteners and curling iron are provided, as well as a second flat-screen television. Opening off the main bedroom is a quality-finished en-suite that is fitted with wall-hung basin and toilet, as well as a large shower. The second bedroom is equipped with full-sized twin beds, complemented by free-standing solid oak bed-side cabinets, a tallboy chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Moreover, a second hair-dryer is also provided. The main bathroom is adjacent to the second bedroom and along with a wall-hung basin and toilet, there is a bath with built-in shower over.

The cupboard in the hallway houses the apartment's central heating boiler, and also stores a steam iron and ironing board if needed.

For those who might want to explore York and its surrounding area on two wheels, the apartment includes secure cycle/motorcycle storage on the ground floor, with access directly opposite the Bootham Row public car park. For those arriving by car, the apartment includes use of a parking permit that allows free parking for one vehicle in the public car park.

"Very comfortable, centrally located temporary home."

Although this apartment is located on the American third floor, it has a convenient elevator which was a blessing for the four of us who are all seniors. While the furnishings are not plush, they are all in good condition and the apartment has all the conveniences one could expect and we immediately felt at home. There are two comfortable bedrooms and two complete bathrooms, one in-suite and the other across the hall from the second bedroom. The living room/dining room/kitchen are all one large room which we found to be very pleasant because it allowed us to visit while preparing a meal, eating, or just sitting together in the living room. We assumed the TV worked, but we never turned it on because we just did not want the noise.

The apartment has small air conditioner units for each bedroom and a separate unit in the living room. Of course air conditioning and an elevator are unusual in most apartments in the UK and Europe to begin with. We found these very useful because we happened to be there during a very warm spell.

Parking was conveniently located near the apartment and there is a small grocery store right below on the ground floor, which made picking up food items as we needed them a breeze. The apartment is located within easy walking distance of the old walled portion of the city and has easy access to roads leading both into the new portions of town and the local countryside.

The owner has been a pleasure to deal with, has replied fully to all our questions and returned our damage deposit promptly after our stay.

I will not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends and will plan on staying there ourselves if we are able to visit York again.

Great location for exploring all York has to offer, with the added bonus of a Sainsbury's express below. Clean, comfortable and everything up to a high standard. A remarkably good DVD library and a massive TV to watch them on. It missed out on being rated 5 because the lift was out of order for most of our stay and the apartment is on the top floor! We would definitely stay again and I've already recommended it to a friend.
