Northern England region
York is centred in Northern Yorkshire, England's largest and most rural county. Home to the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors, Vale of York and the coastal region. Each with it's own distinct, natural beauty and charm.
Whilst visiting York why not take a trip out to some of the stunning stately homes including Castle Howard, Harewood House and Beningbrough Hall & Gardens to name but a few or even the delightful ruins of Bolton Abbey with its picturesque river and moorland path walks.
Host to a diversity of historic market towns including Malton, Thirsk, Hemsley and Knaresborough, not only an excuse to induldge in a little retail therapy but take in the beautiful surrounding and local culture.
York is such a special place to visit at all times of year, there is always something to see and do. The National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre, Fairfax House, the gild Halls and the Mansion House.....the list is endless.
In spring the daffodils surrounding the city walls are spectacular and York races in the summer create a colourful spectacle. As Christmas approaches, the Early Music Festival in November and the very popular St Nicholas Fayre keep the streets bustling with excitement; not forgetting all the many and varied music and religious festivals in York Minster.

"A quiet retreat in central York"
Excellent location within the walls of York, with parking and easy access by car. Comfortable and well furnished apartment. We were in 4 Turks Head, which is very suitable for a couple.

"Fantastic property & location"
Had a wonderful week staying in this cottage. Brilliant location within the city walls and added bonus of free parking. Lovely shops and restaurants within two minutes walk and lots to see and do. Would definitely return.

"Perfect - Even the weather."
We've just come back from a golf tour of Yorkshire where 14 of us stayed in the 4 properties. Right in the centre of York, amazingly quiet, with everything you need and with all the pubs and rest… More

"Hen weekend to remember!"
We stayed at 1 and 4 Turks Head Court for my hen weekend in May 2014. There were 10 of us in total and both properties were ideal as they were very close together. They are also very close to the city… More

"Comfortable & Cosy Cottage in great location"
We hired No2 & No4 Turks Head Court, for a party of 6, for a 3 night weekend stay. We found the accommodation cosy and well equipped although not quite as modern as the pictures we saw online when booking which actually reflected No3 that has been recently refurbished. That said, this did not in any way affect our enjoyment of the properties that had everything we needed for the stay and the milk and tea/coffee that was waiting for us on arrival was a lovely touch. The properties are in a fantastic location in Central York, just a couple of minutes walk from the main streets with a good choice of restaurants, but yet in a quiet enclave that meant we enjoyed peaceful nights. The garage parking was a bonus as parking in York can be difficult and whilst tight, I just about managed to squeeze my BMW 5 series in.
The only comment we would make which we did point out in the visitor book, was that the floorboards in No2 do need some attention as they were very squeaky. Regardless of that we would highly recommend these homes to anyone looking to visit York City.

"Fantastic location, immaculate house, so good we booked to stay again the day we left."
My wife and I stayed at 1 Turks Head Court with our 5 month old daughter. Considering the house is so close to the town centre it is in a very quiet location, within a few minutes walk you are right in the midst of York's cobbled streets, including the Shambles and its gorgeous little shops and cafe's. Within 15 minutes walk you can choose from three supermarkets, we had our groceries delivered by one of the supermarkets the day we arrived, although should you choose to eat out as we did regularly their are dozens of bakeries, Cafe's and restaurants within walking distance.
The property itself is immaculate with stunning views of the top of the Minster from the master bedroom on the top floor.
In summary, if you're staying in York for a break and you want to park the and forget driving stay here!

"Lovely accommodation in the historic heart of the City"
For those whom location is everything then York Holiday Homes cannot be beaten. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle yet only minutes away from the many shops, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and all the historic attractions the City has to offer.
We have stayed in 1, 2 and 3 Turks Head Court and Granary Court. All are superb and would not consider staying anywhere else.

The central location is wonderful, just minutes from busy shambles but peaceful. The cottage is well equipped and a haven to enjoy York.
