Northern England region

It's not just after the Olympics that Yorkshire thinks of itself as a capital county with more of everything than anywhere else. Yorkshire encompasses an amazing range of scenery and contrasts, from the wild Pennine dales to the lovely coastline cliff walks near the North York Moors and the soft chalk Wolds recently painted by David Hockney.

Yorkshire's staggering history is never far from the surface, not only in ancient cities like York, but in the less well known castles and churches of Skipton, Richmond, Pontefract, Selby or Castle Bolton.

York's Minster, museums and ancient city streets are full of unmissable discoveries: children rarely forget their first ride into the Viking past at Jorvik, taste of archaeology at Dig, or circuit of the city walls.

Special occasions include York Races (which take place a pleasant one-mile walk from this apartment), September's Food Festival and the glorious musical treats in the run-up to Christmas.

The riverside of York is particularly well-placed for safe off road cycling. You can fish at the end of the road!

"Excellent stay!"

My partner and I stayed here with another couple for a weekend as attending a wedding in near pay Naburn. We couldn't have asked for a friendlier welcome to the New Walk Coach House.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Sue who talked us through everything and showed us around.
The apartment has all you'll need for a stay and is in a ideal location, only a 10 minute walk into York centre along the river.
There is no doubt that we will be back again.

Thank you for your kind comments and I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay. Sue

"Excellent Location with friendly and accommodating owners"

New Walk Coach house was the perfect location to visit York. Peaceful and quiet, seconds from the River Ouse and only a 10min walk (along the river) for visiting the city center and attractions. The accommodation was ideal for a family of 4 or 5, everything you needed for a base and the apartment was very secure. We would all love to go back in warmer weather!
