Northern England region
It's not just after the Olympics that Yorkshire thinks of itself as a capital county with more of everything than anywhere else. Yorkshire encompasses an amazing range of scenery and contrasts, from the wild Pennine dales to the lovely coastline cliff walks near the North York Moors and the soft chalk Wolds recently painted by David Hockney.
Yorkshire's staggering history is never far from the surface, not only in ancient cities like York, but in the less well known castles and churches of Skipton, Richmond, Pontefract, Selby or Castle Bolton.
York's Minster, museums and ancient city streets are full of unmissable discoveries: children rarely forget their first ride into the Viking past at Jorvik, taste of archaeology at Dig, or circuit of the city walls.
Special occasions include York Races (which take place a pleasant one-mile walk from this apartment), September's Food Festival and the glorious musical treats in the run-up to Christmas.
The riverside of York is particularly well-placed for safe off road cycling. You can fish at the end of the road!

My partner and I stayed here with another couple for a weekend as attending a wedding in near pay Naburn. We couldn't have asked for a friendlier welcome to the New Walk Coach House.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Sue who talked us through everything and showed us around.
The apartment has all you'll need for a stay and is in a ideal location, only a 10 minute walk into York centre along the river.
There is no doubt that we will be back again.
Thank you for your kind comments and I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay. Sue

"Excellent Location with friendly and accommodating owners"
New Walk Coach house was the perfect location to visit York. Peaceful and quiet, seconds from the River Ouse and only a 10min walk (along the river) for visiting the city center and attractions. The accommodation was ideal for a family of 4 or 5, everything you needed for a base and the apartment was very secure. We would all love to go back in warmer weather!

"Great Location Good for Teenagers and Shopping Very Comfortable"
The arrival arrangements were spot on and the start up food pack was welcome. The parking was not a problem and we always got a space after being out. We went to Flamingo Land which is quite close but the weather wasn't the best. The accommodation was perfect for the two girls with them having their own room on the same floor as the lounge which meant they could stay up longer watching telly. The Internet signal was a bit hit or miss and I feel needs to be better for the youth of today. We ate out most nights except for the last one where we had a carry out from the Chinese at the top of the road which was first class. We had excellent communications from the owner and was well impressed with the flat. If we were to return to York we would definitely try and book the Coach House. If you are in doubt about booking don't be it's definitely a good accommodation of good standard in a good location .
