St John Street
House | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 5
A period 3 bed house with lots of original features and furnished to a high standard.
St John Street is only a five minute walk into the town center with all it's bars, restaurants and attractions, but in a peaceful, location with a view of York Minster at the end of the street.
The house benefits from three good size bedrooms, one very spacious with a king size bed, one good double and a single room. The elegant, high ceilings and tall windows make the house bright and airy but with an ambience of times gone by and a warm, cosy atmosphere. Recently renovated and furnished with many antique pieces the house has a period charm all of its own but without compromising on modern day comforts.
A completely private, walled patio at the rear has a table and chairs for alfresco dining or cocktails before strolling into town to sample one of the many excellent restaurants.
A beautiful house in a fantastic location.

Why not combine your stay with learning some new skills? Sara Danesin Medio, finalist in the ever popular TV show Masterchef offers a cookery school and a dining club at her home on St Johns Street, literally a one minute walk away. She says
"Fine dining isn't just for restaurants and dining clubs. I am passionate about sharing my love for stylish, delicious food with others. My cookery courses will teach techniques that are part of my heritage, those I have learnt on MasterChef and the skills I am putting into practice in cookery schools and the many demonstrations I am involved with.
My cookery courses will help you to:
• Develop your knowledge and improve your techniques• Learn the recipes for my original takes on classic Italian dishes
• Meet like-minded people
• Re-create fine dining in your own kitchen
Whether you are a seafood lover, terrified of dealing with game or just seeking an understanding of fundamental techniques, my tailor-made cookery classes will help you to improve your cooking."
Northern England region
Yorkshire boasts over 800 attractions, from World Heritage Sites to mining museums, ruined castles and abbeys, to hands on museums and some beautiful coastal sites.
You'll find serene gardens and unique breweries, thrilling rides and industrial heritage. From attractions and museums to sports and galleries, from the history-lover to the inquisitive child, there's something for everyone.
Renowned for its exquisite architecture, Gothic cathedral and tangle of quaint cobbled streets, historic York is the setting for a perfect romantic retreat. But as old meets new, the city also has many surprises in store as vibrant cafés, colourful street entertainers and boutique shopping lie waiting to be discovered.
Some of the most popular attractions are the minster, Clifford's Tower, Jorvik viking centre, York dungeons, several very good museums and our favourite, the railway museum.
