Located in the popular village of Tollerton, just ten miles north of York is 'The Red Barn' offering luxurious accommodation for 6/10 guests. The open plan living area enjoys a wonderful slate tiled floor with under floor heating. This bright and spacious area allows the sun to flood in and there is a spacious conservatory ideal for those cooler winter months. The kitchen area provides a large range cooker, and solid wood surfaces which sit beautifully in keeping with the rustic theme that this clever conversion provides. Upstairs there is a generous family guest suite with a double bed and the option of two single guest beds ideal for children. This suite boasts a luxurious private bathroom. The other two bedrooms both enjoy private en-suites. There is a sofa bed on the ground floor, and a ground floor shower room, making it ideal for less able guests.

The Northern England / Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales region

Any visitor to the county of Yorkshire will probably be aware of the historic city of York, which has huge cultural significance across the whole of Europe. York has an ancient past stretching back to Roman times and the city has managed to retain its magnificent architecture through the ages from this time, when it has variously been a major settlement for the Vikings and a focal point in medieval Britain. Dominating the city is York Minster which is Europe's largest Gothic cathedral and miles of city walls which go back to the 13th century. York today is a great mix of historical buildings, impressive architecture and a modern vibrant city with superb shops, cafes, restaurants and visitor attractions. To the south and east of York lies the Yorkshire Wolds; an area of gentle rolling hills, picturesque villages and busy market towns, making just the perfect place for relaxed breaks, easy walking, great cycling routes and plenty of sightseeing at historic stately homes.

The York / Tollerton area

Tollerton is situated just ten miles north of the historic city of York, making it the ideal holiday location for those who wish to explore this exciting city, but prefer to stay in a quiet village setting. Tollerton is a traditional Yorkshire village with a picturesque village green, and amazing village store and Post Office selling wonderful fresh local produce which is meticulously displayed on a cart outside the store. The village also enjoys a traditional village pub. The historic city of York is very easily accessible, and we would recommend the Park and Ride which runs daily and offers visitors a leisurely 'hassle free' ride into the centre of this wonderful Roman city. There are many attractions in York, though just a wander up and down the cobbled streets is sure to be enough to win your hearts.
