This is an ideal holiday home for guests wanting to explore the city and all its attractions, museums, shops and nightlife. Everything is just a short walk away so a car is not necessary. The house sleeps 10 guests in 5 bedrooms and has a bathroom and 2 shower rooms. There is parking for 2 -3 cars and the house has free wifi.

A deposit equal to a third of the rental plus the £28.00 booking fee is required to confirm the reservation. The final balance is due 56 days prior to arrival.

We will pre authorise your credit or debit card for £200.00 as a security deposit. This will be taken 2 weeks prior to your arrival and directions to the property will be forwarded at this point.

We will then release the authorisation on your card within 7 - 10 days of your departure providing the house has been left in good order.

Credit card payments, Visa, Mastercard and American Express will be charged at 1.9%.

There is an additional £28.00 Booking Fee.

The Yorkshire region

Baille Hill House overlooks the City Walls. It is within easy access of the train station. If you don't have a car you can travel easily by train to Harrogate, Pickering, Whitby & Leeds, all other attractions within the city are within walking distance. If you do have a car then there are plenty of attractions to see within a half hours drive from the house. These include Castle Howard, The Air Museum at Elvington, Nunnington Hall and the Popular market towns of Pickering and Helsmley to name a few.

York

York has many attractions and all of these are within a 10 - 15 minute walk of the house:-

York Minster

The Jorvik Museum

The Yorkshire Musuem

The Shambles

Places to eat include the famous Bettys Tea Rooms. There is a Jamie Oliver Restaurant in York as well as usual favourites such as Pizza Express. There is a large Marks and Spencer Food store about 10 minutes walk from the house.

"An excellent, comfortable holiday house in a great location"

We rented Baille Hill House over the New Year as a get together for ourselves, our two sons and their families. We chose York because it was central to where we all live (Scotland and Cambridgeshire), and Baille Hill House because it as big enough to accommodate us all and had a central location. It lived up to our expectations fully - a very comfortable house within minutes of a good range of shops, pubs, takeaways and all the attractions that York has to offer. We had four young children with us ranging from two and a half to five years old - I would suggest that the house would not be suitable for children younger than this because of the stairs ( no stair gate), but ours were quite happy. Only problem was with the hot water, which was sometimes a bit difficult to get going in the top floor bathroom (combi boiler not quite coping with the demands?). However, we did eventually find a way to get it flowing, and to be fair there were good written instructions explaining this. Generally very happy with this property, which was very clean and comfortable.

"An excellent property in a great location"

This is an extremely well presented and furnished house, well above the normal standard for rental properties. Whilst it is a bit cozy for ten people, we managed very well. The location is ideal for those wishing to explore York. It is opposite an access point for walking the city walls and it is within easy walking distance of the shops, the museums and the Yorvic Centre. We would certainly return, if a trip to York was on the agenda on one of our visits back to the UK.

"Ideal location"

Couldn't be better; a big house with a bathroom on every floor, ideally situated a few minutes walk from the city centre and from a wonderful parade of shops just round the corner.

"Vacation rental that looks as if you are the first guest."

the house was very clean and in very good condition. everything you need is present. The three showers were very pleasant; no waiting. The only thing we missed were coffee pads for the senseo coffee machine. We did not find those pads in the supermarket.
