The apartment has a spacious open plan living room, separate hallway and entrance, separate luxury bathroom with full sized bath, power shower and modern quality fittings, dining area , modern kitchen with integrated appliances and a large separate double bedroom (including wall mounted LCD TV).

As the accommodation is recently built, it enjoys all the benefits of a new development including full fire protection systems, secure electronic access, modern appliances and quality finish.

As you approach the apartment from the street, you are greeted by large electric double gates; the complex exudes style from the very moment you arrive. After parking in the secure car-park, it's a few steps to the apartment doors.

Once inside, you enter the hallway with wall mounted coat rack to the left, and a large storage cupboard (behind a solid door) so you can store your suitcases and bags out of sight. The doors through-out are heavy quality modern self closing doors with quality stainless door furniture. Also leading from the hallway are the bedroom, lounge, bathroom and kitchen/dining area.

Inside the bedroom, you will find cream carpet, large double wardrobe with pull out trouser rack, and a further two full size wardrobes - plenty of space for hanging clothes. There is also a large four draw 'Tall Boy' with lighted make-up mirror, and at each side of the bed there are matching bedside cabinets and bedside lights.

The bed itself is dressed in crisp clean sheets and linen - just what you deserve at the end of a long day's site-seeing and entertainment.

The bedroom also has a full size mirror, and a modern luxury that you shouldn't be without when on holiday - a wall mounted LCD TV at the foot of the bed.

Moving into the lounge, the same beech wooden floor runs through from the hall leading you into a large open plan lounge with a beautiful view of the gardens from the Juliet Balcony. Each side of the room has a large three seater leather sofa with enough seating for 3 adults on each one, and the ceiling is fitted with recessed spot lighting. If you prefer a more atmospheric feel, the lighting has many settings and even a dimmer to get the lighting exactly right to suit your moods!

In the living room, there is ample storage and a marble inlaid modern sideboard to store shopping or items you would like to keep to hand. In this sideboard you will find designer John Rocha crockery if you wish to set the table for dinner. For your entertainment, the lounge has a DVD, TV, Hi-Fi and Internet available.

The modern kitchen is neat and perfect for a week's break. All the appliances are integrated with a dishwasher, washer, dryer, fridge freezer, cooker, hob, microwave and electric waste disposal at your finger tips. Here you will also find all the extras and items you will need to prepare a meal, chill champagne, open wine or store food.

The dining area is situated at the back of the open plan lounge and can seat four people comfortably.

If you feel the need to add some heat, each room in the apartment has a separate wall heater that can be individually controlled to your requirement. As this is a modern flat, there is generally no need for heating unless it's an exceptionally cold day. Also for comfort, the apartment is fitted with an extraction and air change system that can be adjusted to your requirements.

This flat is perfect for relaxing with a meal in the evening, entertaining friends, sleeping soundly after a long day out, relaxing with the balcony doors open looking onto the gardens, or getting you in the mood for a night out.

The view from the Juliet balcony is of the fabulous peaceful communal gardens with immaculate green turf, a multitude of trees and plants and seating areas to sit and enjoy the uncanny quiet for a city centre location (perhaps with a picnic).

Walk out of the complex gates and you are on the river banks of the Ouse with a view of the famous King Arms pub just a few metres away on the opposite bank. Within a few minutes you are in the City centre shopping and entertainment area with its famous narrow cobbled streets, boutique shops, restaurants to suit all tastes and a vibrant vibe at nightfall. You won't have far to walk (or wobble) after a day's shopping or a nights indulgence to return to the apartment! No need for taxis when staying at this apartment and the car can take a break for the duration of your stay as all of central York's historic buildings and many attractions are within 10 minutes walk.

Take a 2 minute stroll in the opposite direction (behind the complex) and you enter the Bishophill area of the City nestled under the historic City walls - with fantastic friendly historic real ale pubs and quaint traditional houses.

For those of you who like to exercise, a gym is located a few doors down from the apartment (guest members welcome and includes a small pool) and a cycle path/walk leads along the river bank passing the beautiful Rowntree Park and onto the Millennium bridge, crossing over the river and bringing you back along the opposite bank with the Kings Arms pub situated conveniently at the end!

If food is your thing, a night in, or a night out couldn't be more convenient, at the end of the street a fabulous Indian take-away (or eat in) is available and there are a multitude of other choices within the vicinity, as well as a shop to buy wine, ingredients or treats. If you prefer to dine out, less than two minutes walk will allow you a choice from restaurants such as Picalinos, The Living Rooms, Red Chilli Chinese, Akbars and Thida Thai. A few minutes more and your choice widens to encompass every style, cuisine and budget.

If you are looking for a more liquid type of lunch, every taste is catered for without the need to venture more than a few metres. From traditional real ale pubs, live music venues, to modern contemporary champagne and cocktail bars - you will be spoilt for choice.

Quite simply, there isn't a better location to be in York and this is reflected in the fact that this is one of the most sought after and exclusive streets to own a property in the City.

We can offer short stays of 4 days or less charged at a daily rate upon arrangement (if not shown on the bookings page please contact us). Please 1 night stays are only available if dates have been booked either side. There is a minimum night requirement of 3 nights at weekends.

The prices quoted are inclusive of cleaning, linen and towels. There are no extras to pay. Booking is direct with the owner so there are no agent fee's or booking fee's.

Children

Kids will be enchanted by York and it's winding streets and atmospheric historic attractions. This apartment is ideally placed for access to York Dungeons, The Railway Museum, The Minster and everything else that the little ones will love. In winter there is a skating rink located nearby, and the kids will love to feed ducks on the river banks opposite the apartment.

Children are very welcome, however, the apartment is not toddler proofed so please take note of this (although the balcony is gated). We can provide a travel cot on request and are happy to discuss your requirements where children are concerned. We would suggest not more than two children are suitable for this apartment. Although there are communal gardens, they are intended as a place to relax and not designed for play but there is a great park (Rowntree Park) a short walk or bike ride along the river bank.

If you would like to bring your own bikes, there are designated area's in the grounds where you can keep them under cover and locked (please bring your own locks). The car park is covered by CCTV so bikes should remain safe. York is a great place to explore by bike and several cycle ways run near to the apartment in either direction along the river banks. If you are feeling energetic you are able to cycle as far as Selby along the old railway lines leading from the river bank close to the Millennium bridge.

The apartment has lift access, and the designated car park space is a few paces from the apartment block entrance (you can view your car from the apartment window).

"Disappointed"

Be wary of term.. " luxury appointed through-out. As the apartment was described as "luxury" we were very disappointed to find so many issues ( we had booked this apartment on the stren… More

After 3 years of very happy customers it is inevitable that eventually a guest arrives who cannot be pleased......

The review speaks for itself and the majority of people will see that the guest spent more time attempting to gather evidence immediately upon arrival for a refund post stay than enjoying this fantastic apartment and city.
All the points listed in the review could have been resolved on the day of arrival if they were indeed a problem, but we were not given the opportunity to address them. The guest called me to 'complain' about 'cleanliness issues' (vaguely) but didn't then respond to my request to allow us entry to the property to see what the 'issues' were and resolve them - seems a bit odd eh?....

And lo and behold a few weeks later, the next I hear is a request for a partial refund or a threat of a bad review. I conceded the dishwasher seemed to have been broken (although we couldn't get access to look at this at the time, but it has now been replaced with a brand new one) so offered a discounted rate off a future booking. I didn't however concede anything else because we could have come in and addressed the other points that day had we been asked to do so.

If our apartment was really as bad as the guest is trying to make out we certainly wouldn't enjoy the bookings we do (nearly 100%) and the repeat customers that come back time and time again. Just check out our positive reviews on this and other popular booking sites.

It's sad that as a one apartment owner who works very very hard to provide a quality product, service and experience that I have to deal with this sort of thing. I have no doubt that people like this would complain in the best hotel in the world looking for a refund.

"Great location, quiet, safe area - Will definitely return!"

The flat is very well-equipped, with wi-fi, travel cot, kitchen utensils. The proximity to the town centre is a massive bonus, and it's easy to nip out in the car if you need to. The gardens are lovely for children to play in, and the grounds are well-tended. Johnathan and his colleague were very helpful, with advice and making sure we were all OK. We will definitely return as we had a fantastic time.

Central location in a quiet modern block. Well kept and presented apartment with all facilities and equipment. Good sized sitting room and bedroom. Contemporary in style. Good service and very easy access with informative introduction to the premises. Secure car parking available.

"Excellent Apartment!!!!"

Having stayed in York on a few occasions, I have always stayed in hotels and not really found one that was really good or met all my expectations (which are not unrealistic). For our latest trip, I decided to look at an apartment and this was the best decision as we managed to secure this one.
The location is excellent, just a 5 min walk from the train station, 2 minute walk into town over the River Ouse and to be honest, I dont think you could get a better location.
The apartment itself is in a secure complex with fob entry gates etc, there is also secure parking available. Once inside the apartment I was delighted to see that it had everything I needed and was nothing short of "home from home". It was decorated to a high standard, spotlessly clean, really comfortable both living room and bedroom. The complex whixh the apartment is on is really quiet and unlike in hotels where you have doors slamming or noise from other rooms etc, this was really chilled out.
Myself and my husband love going to York and try to visit once a year, I will certainly be looking to book this apartment from now onwards........no more hotels.

"Much better than a hotel!"

The apartment is located very centrally, just a few minutes walk from all the attractions and mini-Tesco. Well appointed with all the mod-cons you'd expect in an upscale apartment. Comfortable bed and furniture and a lovely view. The elevator was a great help also - especially with big suitcases.
The only improvement could be the WiFi, which is through a dongle rather than a router, so only one computer at a time can be connected.

Thanks for the great review. The apartment is in a fantastic location and we are happy that you liked it.

With regard to the wi-fi, we are replacing this with full wi-fi (not on a dongle) next month not least because of the increase in iPad owners!

"Modern city flat perfectly located right in the centre of York"

My fiancée and I were looking for somewhere to stay in York and came across this place.

It is perfectly located for the city centre, being literally a stone's throw from all the main attractions and shops. Car parking is no hassle (often a problem with city centre stays) because there's an allocated parking space within the development of which the flat is part.

The flat itself has all mod cons and is comfortable and cosy. It faces onto an interior courtyard and hence despite being right in the middle of York is quiet and relaxed.

The only minor point I would say against the place was that the inside of the wardrobe was a little dusty, so that when I put some clothes on the bottom shelf I had to shake the dust off before wearing them.

If I return to York any time soon I would certainly look to stay here again.
