A lot of people have commented that once you enter the complex from the main streets of York city centre via the large electric double gates, peace and tranquillity descends on you. After parking in your dedicated undercover spot in the car-park, it's a few steps to the apartment doors. This is where being on the ground floor really matters - there is no struggling up the stairs with your luggage or in a lift to gain access to the apartment and we are one of only 2 apartments in this block that has its own patio so you can sit outside rather than having to look through the windows.

The first thing you will notice is the Mediterranean feel about the apartment. The use of very large mirrors, the mirrored wall in the hall and a carpet free environment certainly gives this apartment the edge over the usual type of "holiday flats".

In the hall there is a large storage cupboard for your shoes, coats and suitcases and you will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of fitted wardrobes and drawers in the bedroom. A particular feature of the bedroom is the modern dressing table/desk - perfect for the business guest or just for putting your make up on!. It has great views of the gardens and patio. Again there is a large mirror in the bedroom and the floor is quality real wood and not laminated. The bed is King Size and has modern lights overhead which create the perfect ambience.

The open plan lounge/kitchen is very modern and upmarket. The kitchen has quality integrated appliances (including a really cool pull out ironing board), a waste disposal unit, feature lighting below the gloss units and at floor level and a gorgeous corian work-surface/dining bar providing ample room to prepare and enjoy meals or have a coffee or a glass of wine maybe! The floor is tiled throughout in a cool and contemporary colour. In the lounge area the double doors open onto the large patio where you can enjoy a glass or two whilst admiring the well maintained communal gardens. The lounge has 2 leather sofas, a large glass coffee table, 40 inch TV with freeview and Blu Ray DVD player, free internet access and an amazing super size mirror which reflects the light this apartment enjoys. Being a modern apartment there is usually no need for extra heat but on a very cold day you will be pleased to know that each room has a slim modern electric wall heater that can be set to the temperature of your choosing.

The bathroom has a double size shower and quality fittings.

As you would expect from a high quality modern apartment complex there is a full fire protection system, secure electronic access, modern appliances and quality finish.

Walk out of the complex gates and you are on the river banks of the Ouse with a view of the famous King Arms pub just a few metres away on the opposite bank. Within a few minutes you are in the City centre shopping and entertainment area with its famous narrow cobbled streets, boutique shops, restaurants to suit all tastes and a vibrant vibe at nightfall. It is so good to have an easy stroll back to the apartment after a full day of shopping, sightseeing or a great night out. We find that people love the fact that you don't have to use a taxi and they have said that their car has remained unused for a whole week while they have discovered all that York has to offer within walking distance. In the streets behind the complex are numerous real ale pubs and quaint traditional houses or if you fancy some exercise try out the gym which is in the same street as the apartment (You can pay for short period membership and it includes a small pool).York is a city for cycling and a cycle path/walk leads along the river bank passing the beautiful Rowntree Park and onto the Millennium bridge, crossing over the river and bringing you back along the opposite bank with the Kings Arms pub situated at the end.

From outside the complex you are on to Micklegate Bridge over the River Ouse and then straight into the numerous shops/restaurants catering for every taste. A superb mix of traditional pubs, contemporary wine bars, cafes and live music venues.

If you want a relaxing night in there is a Tesco express, Budgens, Sainsbury local, wine shops, bakery shops, take aways in fact everything you need and can think of is available - again within easy walking distance.

We feel that this is the best location to be in in York and we have read that this is one of the most sought after and exclusive streets to own a property in the City.

The 40 inch TV has Freeview and there is a Blu Ray DVD player. There is a CD player with Ipod dock in the kitchen and the radio alarm clock has an ipod/iphone dock. There is a freezer section to the fridge. No hen or stag breaks.

Northern England region

There is something here for everyone including walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. Other pursuits include rock climbing, pot-holing, fishing, golf, pony trekking, sailing, canoeing, quad biking and even hand gliding.

The two National Parks, the North Yorks Moors and Yorkshire Dales are less than an hour away. Within the same time you can visit the rugged Yorkshire coast, Scarborough or Whitby. Or what about Castle Howard, Fountains Abbey or Harewood House, there is also the North Yorkshire Railway at Pickering giving spectacular views of the Heartbeat Country.

A visit to North Yorkshire isn't complete without seeing and experiencing the raw beauty of the North York Moors. The road across the moors is considered to be one of Britain's best drives.

Beyond the Moors the draw of the North Yorkshire coast offers great variety in seaside attraction. From the endearing Robin Hoods Bay, the haunting yet very agreeable town of Whitby and the more self-assured resort of Scarborough. These coastal destinations are enjoying a new renaissance as domestic (and overseas visitors) are rediscovering the pleasures of the British seaside.

Castles, abbeys, grand houses, chocolate box villages, thriving market towns ­ the list of things to see and enjoy during your stay in North Yorkshire is endless.


York is the place to visit for all its historic features including York Minster and tourist attractions such as the Jorvic Viking Centre, Bettys Tea Rooms, The Shambles, National Railway Museum, Cliffords Tower and York Racecourse.

There are numerous festivals throughout the year and the city centre is alive with restaurants, shops, cinemas, theatre, street entertainers, markets and of course the many trips along the river Ouse. No matter what time of year you visit there is always something for everyone in York.

"Great Apartment in York City Centre"

Right in the middle of York City Centre, this apartment is ideal for getting out and about without using your car.
The apartment is spacious, clean and has everything you need including a patio area and secure parking space.
The meet and greet worked well, we were unpacked and out exploring in no time! There are plenty of attractions, restaurants, shops all within walking distance.
We have only seen a small part of this beautiful City and plan to return to York and the apartment in the near future.

Thank for your review. It's good to know that you liked the "meet and greet" service we provide - we feel it is much better than picking up a key and having to sort out everything yourself on arrival.

"Great apartment, perfect location!"

The location is simply ideal, especially as it includes a parking space, we didn't need to use our car the whole time we were there-fantastic! It also was literally a few minutes walk from nearly all the attractions, we even got last minute Barbican tickets and could even easily walk there!
The apartment is really spacious with lots of storage space and general space for putting your bits and bobs.
It is modern and really well finished, nice to have the private area out front to sit with a mulled wine on an evening :)
Highly recommend it for both the apartment and the location, we had a brilliant time!

"Going back next year"

This is my second year at the apartment & will book again next year. The owners have been very pleasant & helpful on both occasions
Easy to access, 10 minute stroll from the station, secluded & in a very central position. The apartment is roomy & has everything you need. The little patio garden is a distinct plus, especially as the weather was so pleasant on our last visit
