The West Country region

Described by the ancient Welsh Celts and the Saxons as the Land of the Summer People, Somerset is a county of captivating contrasts.

Its coast takes in long sweeping sandy beaches, seaside resorts, harbours and marinas, and the dramatic Exmoor coastline.

Venture inland to an epic countryside of protected landscapes, rolling hills, wild moorlands, ancient woodlands and wetland habitats, dotted with historic towns and villages.

At the heart of what makes Somerset tick is its' distinctive culture and history that includes willow and cider making, great local food & drink, the legends of Kings Arthur and Alfred and much more.

35 mins to Cheddar Gorge and Wookey hole .

45 mins to Bath -Royal crescent, Roman Baths and new Spa. tours by open bus to all attractions.

45mins to Bristol - Ships the Matthew and SS Great Britain, with great walks or ferries around the new updated harbour area, lots of places to eat and drink, museums, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Zoo just to name a few!

25 mins to Wells-Catherdral and Bishops palace. Market in town square every Wed and Sat

25 mins to Street - Clarks village - large discount shopping mall-specially good for shoes. Also great outdoor swimming pool open May to September.

20mins to Glastonbury-Home of famous rock festival but has interesting shops, Ruins of the Abbey ,the Chalice gardens and the Tor.

Yeovil has been a traditional market town for centuries. Nowadays its bustling streets are lined with a mix of conventional high street stores and independent retailers, selling everything from crafts and clothes to pottery and food, much of it with a distinctive West Country appeal.

Alongside the established shops are busy and colourful street markets two days a week and a farmers market once a month.

The Quedam shopping centre is attractively designed to reflect a village street and provide a calm, friendly and relaxed environment for the serious shopper.

Yeovil boasts two theatres featuring excellent regular productions and an arts centre with a high quality exhibition programme. Call at Yeovil tourist information centre for current details.

Other attractions include swimming pools, children's adventure playgrounds, a golf club, ski centre, multi-screen cinema and ten-pin bowling.

At the foot of the town is the wooded parkland of Yeovil Country Park, where wonderful peaceful walks can be enjoyed.

A few miles away are the unusual Barwick park follies. A follies leaflet, available from the tourist information centre, gives an insight into these fascinating buildings.

Thank you for your review. As an honest owner and someone who has rented properties for over 8 years, I always encourage fair and honest reviews from previous guests. I have to be honest it is very disappointing for me to have to respond to such negativity, solely designed to hamper future booking prospects for this apartment.

As an owner I always strive to ensure that any rental property is exactly as advertised with no hidden issues which would surprise guests on arrival.

In your case I believe you have responded in a very unfair, uncompromising manner, making the apartment sound as if it is located in a slum, yet it is actually perfectly situated for all local shops, restaurants, pub, swimming pool, cinema, national park and theaters (all within 5 minutes walking distance). The apartment also comes with private parking. In addition, the area is more than respectable, clean, tidy and quiet. Inside, the apartment is arguably one of the best in the town.

You demanded a full refund based on your assumption that the property and its surroundings would be in a 'hotel-style' private location, yet the property is clearly advertised as a privately owned apartment.

The apartment does offer guests the opportunity to use the washing line outside and most guests make good use of this and find it very helpful when they stay. Your suggestion that people are hanging their washing in the entrance is simply a lie. Any washing would have been seen in neighbouring apartment's private garden areas.

Your review is unjustifiably damaging and not based on fact. All I can do as an owner in response is hope that future guests take note of all of the reviews as a whole.

If anyone considering staying, I am more than happy to assist with any doubts they have at all, before committing to any booking payment.

"Well appointed; convenient for town & park"

This apartment was our 'home' for 3 months whilst starting a new job & house hunting in Yeovil. It is only a few minutes walk from the town centre & from Ninesprings Country Park so there is very little need for a car (there is parking). It has been completely refurbished in a clean, modern style with all new decoration, fittings, equipment & bedding. Everything necessary is provided. Stuart & his family could not be more helpful. The microwave developed a fault (but still usable) & it was replaced with a new one in an hour or so. Highly recommended - ideal as short term accommodation if working in Yeovil.

Many thanks for your kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you and thank you for looking after the apartment.

Hope to see you again sometime soon.

"Great Apartment, Clean and Quiet"

Booked this apartment with my 2 boys on our way to Cornwall. We only stayed the minimum 3 days but just wanted to say that it was everything as advertised and what we were expecting. I would recommend this to anyone who would like the family under one roof as opposed to bed and breakfast. The apartment was newly designed, with a very fresh, clean feel to it. Everything worked (as all appliances were new anyway)

Thanks for your kind words and hopefully we will see you all again soon at the apartment. take care
