A light and spacious cottage (house)

Home description

Accommodation comprises a very spacious open plan sitting/kitchen/dining room which is incredibly light due to four windows overlooking the garden. The sitting room has two comfortable sofas, a sofa bed. The adjoining dining area has a large pine table seating 8. This then opens onto the fully equipped kitchen with its breakfast bar and stools. Door to utility area, housing the boiler, washing machine and dryer. The downstairs double bedroom has a large adjoining shower room. Upstairs there are two very large attractive twin rooms, each spacious enough for a camp bed, both with en suite bathrooms. One twin room has a futon. There is also a small but compact box room - suitable for a cot or as a temporary office. A door off the sitting room leads into the secluded garden, laid to lawn with a garden table, two benches, (umbrella and BBQ - available in the summer months). Off street parking for two cars.

The Isle of Wight region

The Isle of Wight is a great place to visit. The Isle of Wight has hundreds of tourist attractions to suit all ages and a book is kept at the Lodge with notes on some of the best of these. The West Wight is ideal for nature loves, artists, walkers with breathtaking views of the downs and the Coast. This is a destination for any time of year.

Yarmouth area

The small town of Yarmouth is only a seven minutes stroll away with its variety of shops, chemist, post office, bank, several pubs, hotels and restaurants. A walk down the old railway track will lead you through the marsh (fantastic for bird watching) into Yarmouth and then along the River Yar and finally to Freshwater, where you will find the very popular Red Lion Pub. The Isle of Wight has hundreds of tourist attractions to suit all ages and a book is kept at the Lodge with notes on some of the best of these. The West Wight is ideal for nature loves, artists, walkers with breathtaking views of the downs and the Coast. And a most popular walk The Tennyson trail, with spectacular views of the Needles, not to mention several wonderful beaches nearby. The magazine 'What's on?' (in the Isle of Wight) is generally available on the ferry. It can also be obtained at the Tourist Information Bureau opposite the harbour in Yarmouth. The bureau has a lot of other information as well.

How to get there

The train from London leaves Waterloo. The train goes to Lymington Pier where the ferry will take you to Yarmouth.

Further details indoors:
There is a 4th small bedroom which we can put a chair bed or a cot in. Both on request. Also 1 sofa bed in the sitting room. Bed linen will not be left in the house for these extra beds unless requested (you will be charged extra).The cot and highchair must be requested. Linen for the cot will not be provided. Beach towels are also not provided.

Animals are considered. They are asked not to go upstairs or go on the sofa's.

For weekend and holiday lets only:- all electric, gas and hot water is provided at no extra cost; duvets, bed linen and towels are also provided. However, visitors are asked to provide their own swimming towels and not to remove bath towels from the house. There is a telephone for incoming and 999 calls only. Pets are permitted by arrangement and the owners have requested that visitors do not smoke in the bedrooms. Visitors are advised to supervise small children whilst in the garden. A cot and high chair are available on request. Linen is not provided for the cot.
