Cave house | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
"The Bed in a Cave" is a cave dwelling which has been inhabited by the Wang family since it was built 300 years ago 40min outside of Xi'an in central China.
The cave will be destroyed within a few years as it is on the path of a new highway. Come and stay with the Wang family as well as a western translator and experience the Chinese country life with a twist: western toilets have been installed as well as electricity but no hot water.
We have stacked a large stock of wine and have mapped out walks and longer explorations to do of the surroundings.
No foreign folks ever come here, just one member of the Wang family has ever been to Xi'an which is just 40min drive away.
This is a unique oppotuniry to experience this fast changing China where modernism is taking over from ancestral china. Come exchange with the people living it from the inside and make your own opinion about this.
The people behind this project are staff of Insiders experience, a high end western touring agency who try to give back to the community, and in this case, by helping out the Wang family in this touchy transition.
