The Island of Gozo region

Gozo is tranquil, and treasures its peace. For some, the silence can be overwhelming, but not to those for whom it spells a blessed respite from the trials and tribulations of everyday life. Gozo is not for those who like wild clubbing, but for those who treasure their peace of body and soul and a slow rhythm of life, although a couple of excellent night spots are a hive of activity among the locals during the summer months.
Village bars open early in order to cater for the early risers and close fairly late at night, catering to the socialising needs of locals and visitors alike. These watering-holes, with their wooden chairs, marble counters, and large metal trays containing this local delicacy, pastizzi, are a cultural icon. They have stayed unchanged for decades, the only sign of time passing by being the food and drink displayed for sale on the solid shelves and in the Edwardian glass cases.
The island is well served by restaurants, where the eating is good and varied. The visitor is spoilt for choice. Apart from restaurants and cafes offering local dishes as well as continental menus, one can also enjoy theme restaurants such as Chinese and Indian.
There is no fear in walking about at night. The sense of safety and security is tangible. The people of this island take pride in the absolute absence of muggings and the almost non-existence of theft. Until fairly recently, when they were not at home, the villagers of Gozo left their keys in their front doors, a custom which can occasionally still be seen... but not at our place!!!! ;)
If you love swimming Gozo has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Med.
The Xaghra area
Xaghra rises on a hill in the central north east of Gozo. Its name refers to the wilderness of the hill before it was inhabited.
On the village approach, from the Rabat-Xaghra road one finds the Ggantija Temples (10 minute walk from the Villa) and about half a kilometre to the north of the temples, there is the Stone circle, an underground cemetery of the temple builders.
The site was first excavated in the early 1990s, but it has since been covered. Further up at the end of Santa Verna Street there is a group of three upright megaliths in the middle of the fields. Three horizontal blocks lining the east side of the uprights are similar to the high bench on the façades of some of the major temples, suggesting that another temple might have stood on the site.
Just off the Ggantija Temples one can visit Ta' Kola Windmill. Built in 1725 and named after an early miller, this windmill is still in working condition. During the Axis blockade of the Second World War, the mill was put to good use saving many from starvation.

A very very nice villa, very secluded and quiet. Lots of attention has been given to detail and it is kept very clean. The kitchen is very well equipped. The pool area is really nice and my daughter and i used to really look forward to the first morning dip.
The boys were glued almost constantly to the plasma screen in the living room while us girls lazed around near the pool in the sun.
We had a really great relaxing time, the only problem was the fact that the holiday came to an end and so we had to leave !!!!!!
We really hope to be back :)
Perfect holiday!

I was lucky enough to spend a week in this gorgeous villa, on the beautiful island of Gozo. The villa has been furnished to a very high standard and has all the amenities you could want for a great holiday. The pool is beautiful and, at night, is truly stunning!
There is a local supermarket about 3 minutes walk from the villa, which stocks everything you might need to buy and the staff are very helpful.
I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely Villa.
Thank You

Thank you so much, the villa was absolutely beautiful and it really made our holiday so much more special. We would love to come a back again, it really was a wonderful break. In the words of my niece, the villa was 'Gorgeous' and my nephew said that spending time in the pool was his favourite part of the holiday, he thought it was brilliant having a swim first thing in the morning!! It really was a magnificent experience and we've recommended you to everyone we know!!! It was lovely to meet you ,and again, thank you so much. We can not ,at all, find a fault, everything was perfect and even more beautiful then we imagined.
I can't thank you enough.
Many Thanks

My husband and I had a fantastic one week break in this lovely villa in Gozo.
The villa from the front view is very deceptive to what you actually get once you open the front door! It is big, with lovely modern rooms and the finishes were excellent.
The decking and pool area was quiet and had shaded area after lunchtime. We spent a lot of afternoons enjoying the pool and it was particularly nice in the evenings with a glass of wine!
The bedroom terraces have great views across to the sea and inland.
The house was very clean and tidy (as it was fairly new). Nick, the owner, could not do enough to help us and gave excellent customer service. Ray, the pool man, came in mid week to check the pool and clean it.
Xaghra had a good/friendly supermarket just 2 mins walk down the street. Restaurants were in the town square (about 5 mins drive by car). Would recommend Oleander Restaurant in the Victory Square for a fantastic meal.
The location is great for exploring the island and just chilling out!
If I had a criticism, it would be the lack of shutters/blinds in the main bedroom and bathroom make it very light and hot in the mornings (but it was August!!)
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa to friends or family who wanted to get away from the crowds but still enjoy the sunshine and a pool.
