The Island of Gozo region

Gozo together with Malta and Comino make part of the Maltese Archipelago. Gozo is thought to be the legendary Isle of Calypso and am sure after visiting you will surely be mesmerized by its uniqueness. Gozo is smaller than Malta, with the landscapes characterized with flat topped hills surrounded by cultivated fields. The coast has rugged cliffs and beautiful inlets. Churches and stone houses make up the small villages. With the sunny weather, expansive beaches and thriving nightlife and 7,000 years of history, there is a great deal to see and do. Historical sites, forts and the highly preserved neolithic temple of Ggantija surely completes this mystical and peaceful island. People are very helpful especially in Gozo and go out of their ways to help.

Xaghra is a small village situated on a hill in Gozo. It is the place famous for the Ggantija temples, a neolithic temple. Also there is an old wind mill, ta Kola wind mill. Ramla bay is also on the outskirts of Xaghra. Overlooking this bay, you can find the cave of Calypso where Ulysses is said to have stayed with Calypso. The parish church is found in the middle of the village square.

"Noisy Residents"

A nice clean apartment with a very helpful landlord who would do anything to help. It's a very basic apartment, which is reflected in the price (which is fine by us as we expected that). The reason I have had to give it 2 stars is the tremendous noise from the new residents who had apparently moved in below, it completely ruined the holiday. As they were a family who live there all the time they would make a noise from 6am every morning (not a little bit, a lot, as in scraping chairs, shouting and screaming, children running up and down the corridor, high heels on the tiled floors, doors banging etc etc). this would go on until 9am. it would calm down a little during the day and then kick off again from 2pm and carry on until 11pm some nights. We were even treated to hammering for an hour at 8:30pm one night when we thought we'd try and have a quiet relaxing night in.
I really hope Celine can do something about them as it ruined an otherwise great holiday and we came home more exhausted than when we got there. If we didn't have that incessant noise I would have given the apartment 4 stars.
Another thing to note is that I don't know whether the landlord has 2 apartments next to each other but the pictures on display here are opposite. The kitchen and all the lounge are in reverse, with different furniture, which makes me think that it's another apartment in the pictures possibly next door as that would make sense.

Thank for your review and I thank you upon your great comments regarding the flat. Unfortunately neighbors do not always behave as you wish! There are only 6 flats in the block, of which only 3 are inhabited, including mine. I already spoke with the neighbors and they have agreed to be more pleasant.

"Wonderful relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the world"

Had a brilliant stay in the apartment. Plenty of room, clean, comfortable and everything was provided for a pleasant stay. Close to all amenities and easy enough to walk into Victoria if desired. Great value for money and would highly recommend the apartment.

"A Spacious & Clean Suite with Beautiful Views, cared for by a kind landlord"

We had a wonderful time in this suite during our 3 week of our stay.
The suite has a beautiful ocean view from a main dining room.
The master bedroom faces east, we were welcomed by an exquisite sun rise every morning.

The suite is walking distance from the church square where daily fresh products and fish market takes place.

The landlord was most helpful offering to pick us up from the ferry terminal. She welcomed us with the provisions for the kitchen and remained caring and personable throughout our stay to help us settle and feel at home in Gozo.
