Ta' Dratta - Luxury Converted Farmhouse for Tranquil Holidays in Gozo. This beautifully restored and authentic farmhouse is well laid out with a private, swimming pool with shower room, sun bathing area, and a BBQ area with large dining space. Located in a semi-rural and quiet area yet only 10 minutes walk from pretty Xaghra square with its quaint bars and restaurants as well as all other amenities like supermarkets and other shops.

Beautiful picturesque scenery (sea and country views) can be enjoyed either from the windows and balconies or from the large sunny roof terrace. ‘Ta’ Dratta’ Farmhouse offers something for everyone: due to its large size and marvellous attention to detail both in furnishings and fittings and guarantees your total comfort in a tranquil and romantic setting.

The spacious kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with everyday appliances including microwave oven and overlooks the pool whilst the sitting room has comfortable sofas and a 29’’ flat screen TV set with cable channels. Five bedrooms, two of which have an en-suite shower and balcony or sun terrace, can sleep up to 10 persons in cosy comfort. There is an extra, large bathroom on the 1st floor and another at ground floor level. The farmhouse is also equipped with a washing machine.

Holidays in Gozo are perfect for outdoor adventures, particularly with its hot, year-round sunny climate. Lush vegetation, flat-topped hills and craggy cliffs offer superb cycling, rambling and rock climbing. Here, you’ll find fascinating cliffs, caves and caverns home to an abundance of fish and sea life. Conventional sports like golf and tennis are available, and horse riding to experience the dramatic scenery around you.

TASTE THE HISTORY
Historical places of interest are found everywhere in Gozo. A must-see for all holiday goers are the megalithic Ggantija temples - thought to be even older than the Egyptian Pyramids. Gozo also has a museum of archaeology in Victoria which is full of interesting remains and pre-historic artefacts. Among its other highlights are the famous and imposing Citadel, and several caves and grottoes dotted around the island – alongside some of the most spectacular, awe-inspiring views in all of the Mediterranean.

LOCAL CUISINE
When you choose a villa holiday in Gozo, you’ll find fabulous al fresco dining and a wide variety of authentic dishes to try. Life here moves at a leisurely pace, even during the summer holidays, and revolves around farming and fishing – so expect to sample some of the best local produce from tomatoes, peppers and fruits to freshly-caught seafood. MUST DO'S WHILE IN GOZO:

The Inland Sea and azure Window, a secluded pebbly bathing pool with crystal clear waters and a sheer cliff backdrop, can be found at dwejra in the Northwest of Gozo.

The medieval citadel of Victoria now houses the 17th Cenury cathedral and a collection of fascinating museums and fantastic views.

Visit the Ggantija temples in Xaghra, a stone's throw from the farmhouse, which were built around 3,600 BC. These giant stone structures are even older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids – much older.

Go walking, especially in Spring, and diving in one of the best and most renowned crystal clear waters in all of Europe.

Savour the local delicacies like goat's cheese and the exquisite fresh seafood at village restaurants and beachside taverns.

We thoroughly enjoyed being at Gozo/Malta and at Ta' Dratta. It is an attractive and spacious farmhouse which easily has room for a big family like ours, 11 altogether. We greatly appreciated the warm welcome we received and the equally warm farewell.

Great 2 Weeks Relaxation
The photographs of Ta’ Dratta on the website are beautiful but cannot do it full justice, Ta’ Dratta farmhouse has been tastefully restored to its original condition, it is spacious, more so then is apparent in the photographs, light and very well appointed. Eight of us stayed there for two weeks in August, the hottest time of the year and we felt very comfortable, the high ceilings, thick limestone walls and ceiling fans kept us cool in the August heat. The pool area was a real focal point for both the children and adults alike, the pool itself is deeper then it appears in the photographs and is great for relaxing in, it is also very private.
Ivan, his wife and his brother are very friendly and made us feel very welcome, they were also readily available if needed.
Ta’ Dratta is situated within a short walking distance of a mini supermarket and we found all necessities were easy to find. An additional bonus while we stayed was a fruit lorry that stopped right outside the farmhouse every morning, selling fresh fruit and also other useful items. Xaghra itself is fairly central and anywhere on Gozo is only a short drive away, we also found the main square at Xaghra, which is again only a short walking distance from the farmhouse to be the best in Gozo, it contains some shops, a beautiful church and is a beautiful setting in which to sit outside to eat at one of the restaurants there.
The people of Gozo were very friendly, we very much enjoyed out stay in Gozo and have no hesitation in recommending Ta Dratta as a place to stay.

"I echo all the comments made by other guests.
In addition the rental process itself was very simple.
Property had a lovely clean and airy atmosphere and a newness about it. Compliments to the housekeeper.
Also appreciated, the lighting, beautifully worked out with character features highlighted. For us girlies, lots of mirrors and power points for our hairdryers!
Ivan or Pierre were always available but never intrusive.
The location was excellent although a car, in my opinion, is essential to really enjoy Gozo and pick up groceries.
Depending on the time of year, and if you like walking, download some walks off the internet. We did and it made a really great day. Research will also inform you of some of the lesser visited bays like Dahlet Qorrot bay, a real find with a stunning coastal walk.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property. So a ˜two thumbs up' from all of us, for Ta' Dratta, and Gozo and thanks to all concerned!"

Best 2 weeks holiday ever!
We have just had 2 weeks of sheer heaven courtesy of Ivan and Ta Dratta! What a gem of a property - totally first class in every way possible. From the minute we landed in Malta, the holiday went like a total dream - taxi met us at the airport, accompanied us all the way to the doorstep in Xaghra, where both Ivan and the car hire and car hire man were there to welcome us. Having 4 children travelling with us, ranging in ages from 11 to 16, as well as myself and my good other half, every need and whim was catered for and exceeded by the farmhouse. The farmhouse is superbly decorated and with so much room, we could have housed another family with total ease in there! We spent hours in the pool and the location of Xaghra is perfect - central for all of the island ready to explore, whilst at the same time providing some superb restaurants that you can take a gentle wander to in the evening if you dont fancy a car journey. Ivan was a superb host, always available on the phone if required and we really couldnt have asked for more from a holiday. The island of Gozo is like travelling back in time, the only concern was what to eat for our evening meal! Really would recommend this to anybody of any age - we would love to return in the future.

Wonderful Stay!
My family of three stayed here for two weeks along with my mom and her husband. We had a simply magnificent time and our hosts could not have been more accommodating.
To begin with, the house was wonderfully appointed and maintained. The whole house was very clean and in excellent condition. The owner arranged to have us picked up in Malta and transported to the farmhouse just as promised with the car hire agent waiting at the house when we arrived. Everything was in top shape and the owners were even so thoughtful as to provide a basket filled with food so we didn't need to go shopping the first day. The rooms were even more spacious than they appear on the website and our 12-year old daughter had fun picking her room. The location could not be better as Xaghra is a delightful village and the views from the house of the village and the Mediterranean are just stunning. Our daughter had fun in the pool and her parents had fun just sitting on the roof deck or cooking in the kitchen. My mom and her husband are 70+, but had no trouble with the stairs.
We loved Otters and Oleanders to dine out, with Otters having a great location on the water in Marsalforn. We had just as much fun using the terrific BBQ at the house and getting the freshest fish imaginable from the market in Ghajnsielem.
We are saving our pennies to return sometime and I would recommend this house to anyone. Really hard to imagine a more wonderful place. Everything from the house to the rich history of the islands, the beautiful surroundings, great food, the fantastic weather and the incredibly friendly residents of Gozo made this trip a joy. Thank you for the great memories!

Dear Mr Attard,
Thank you for all your help during our holiday. We really enjoyed the holiday and thought the farmhouse was delightful. It was extremely spacious and certainly big enough for two families. All the bedrooms were lovely especially the master bedroom with its balcony and lovely views of the sea. The furniture in all the rooms was lovely and the kitchen very well equipped. The courtyard with the pool was completely private. The pool was of moderate size and certainly adequate for our needs. The outside furniture was good, especially the very large sun shade that went over the table; we ate nearly all our meals outside including two BBQ’s.
It was wonderful to have so many clean towels. All the bathrooms were lovely and there was sufficient hot water from the solar panels. The maid was very helpful and it was nice to have fresh sheets for the second week.
We liked the position of the Farmhouse. The village had a lovely square and we enjoyed the windmill and the other sites in the village. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring all over Gozo. We loved the day on Comino swimming in the Blue Lagoon. We had two excellent day trips to Malta (one day to Mdina and the second to Valletta). One of the highlights for me though was snorkelling at the blue hole and seeing the Azure window.

Our stay at Ta' Dratta was excellent in every way. The property was a great size for a large group, very clean and also beautiful touches all around. Our favourite things about the farmhouse were the pool area, the large kitchen, having wireless internet access, the lovely views from the roof and the location. Ivan and his wife were lovely and when the power went out one night due to a thunder storm, they were able to help us out right away. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the main square and an easy drive to Ramla Bay or Marsalforn. Oleanders is the best restaurant in Xaghra in our opinion, and a trip to Ta' French is also a must. We got married in Gozo and will definitely be back...and if we have a big group we will definitely stay at Ta' Dratta again.

Characterful and spotlessly clean:
We very much enjoyed our week’s break at Ta’ Dratta. The house is well equipped with a beautiful pool and terraced area with BBQ and excellent facilities. We were warmly welcomed by Ivan and his wife who couldn’t have been more helpful.
There was an excellent welcome pack on our arrival, particularly appreciated as we arrived on a Sunday when all shops are closed (although village restaurants nearby are open).
Larger parties should be aware that one of the bedrooms is accessed via a very steep spiral staircase – not for the less mobile but great for the kids, and the views from the rooftop terrace are stunning !
Lots to see and do, and nearby Ramla beach is a superb setting but gets very busy ! Wish we had longer to explore not only Gozo, but Malta as well ! Suitable for all……

It is with great pleasure that we would recommend without hesitation this beautiful farm house which was absolutely perfect for our week in Gozo. The whole house was beautiful, well equipped with everything you could possibly need to have the best of holidays.
Our children loved it all so much that they were disappointed to leave. They especially enjoyed the great swimming pool and also the abundance of space.
We regret not having booked our stay for longer as it truly was a home away from home!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ta' Dratta. It is a beautiful old restored house which has been tastefully renovated. It is spacious and comfortable. The pool was great as the weather got hotter. Being in the village felt like you were part of Gozitan life and the people were so friendly, it was only a short easy stroll for a coffee at the friendly bars or a meal at the local restaurants. We found Aztec the best one. The villa was very clean and Stella did a great job cleaning it half way through the holiday. Ivan and his wife made us very welcome and gave us some good ideas of how to spend our time. Ramla beach is lovely but bargain for the sunbeds!. The blue Lagoon is very crowded go later in the day when the large boats start to leave, otherwise it will be a shock after the pace of life on Gozo.
