The Island of Gozo region

GOZO is Malta's tiny sister island in the southern Mediterranean. 90km south of Sicily and 300 km from the Tunisian desert.

For foodies, there is a wide selection of excellent restaurants, offering both local cuisine and strong influences from Italy and elsewhere. Fresh fish is plentiful, as is excellent local wine. Each village in turn holds its own 'festa' during summer weekends, with fireworks and traditional horse-racing up the main street.

Gozo is a world class scuba diving destination, and there are many dive schools on the island.

This is Calypso's Isle of Ogygia from Homer's Odyssey, where the beautiful nymph held Odysseus a prisoner of love for seven years. It is a place where legend blends with history. There are Neolithic cave dwellings, the oldest man-made temple in the world - pre-dating the Giza Pyramids by over 1,000 years - and an amazing array of monumental Baroque, neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque churches and basilicas.

Sailing is a popular pastime around the islands, and several companies offer boat trips and boat hire.

The Gozitan countryside is beautiful, and very popular with walkers.

For older children and adults there is climbing, sea kayaking, diving, biking and hiking activities.

5 minute stroll to Xaghra Square which has bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.

"Razzett Pepprina is a beautiful Gozitan farmhouse with all the facilities that you could ever wish for."

Razzett Pepprina is a beautiful Gozitan farmhouse with all the facilities that you could ever wish for. We joked one night that all they needed was a salad spinner, only to discover that there was one! The house is spacious made of the most beautiful limestone. Our children are 3, 5 and 6 and they felt very at home and loved the pool and the BBQ! We loved the fact that the house was superbly equipped not only with toys, inflatables and beach gear but also an I-pod dock and Wi-Fi. As a result we had a fabulous and very relaxing holiday. We would very much like to go again, the sooner the better!

Thank you very much for your lovely review. I'm so pleased to hear that you had a relaxing holiday and enjoyed the facilities provided in the house (including the salad spinner!). We have tried to think of everything, so it is great to receive your positive feedback. I am delighted that you would like to come and stay again, and very much look forward to welcoming you back!

"Wonderful holiday home - highly recommended!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Razzett Pepprina. This traditional stone house is beautifully furnished; wonderfully clean throughout with a brilliantly well equipped kitchen. Extras like books, children's toys and a welcome pack with food and drink were a nice touch and much appreciated. The owners provided fantastic customer service, from how to get from the airport to the house, great tips for restaurants and beaches to visit, to a wonderful local care-taker to make sure all was to our satisfaction. We found the village and people of Xaghra to be utterly charming, with shops and a couple of great restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Both restaurants had great menus for 'foodies' but also welcomed the kids and were happy to accommodate their requirements with no bother or fuss, a rare find! We'll definitely book again.

Many thanks for your wonderful review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your holiday and were pleased with the service received from both the UK and Gozo. We have equipped the house very much with babies and children in mind, so it is good to hear that the books and toys went down well! I am also glad that you enjoyed the excellent restaurants that we are lucky to have within a 5 minute walk from the house. We hope that you come and stay again!

"We didn't want to come home! Ever!"

We stayed at the farmhouse for 9 days at the beginning of June and escaped from the Jubilee madness. It is a fantastic house with everything you could wish for, very well equipped and some, we wanted for nothing. The location is perfect, short car ride to any one of the beaches, not far from the main centre Rabat and just a stroll away from the square for our evening dinner. We took a boat trip to Comino, it is definitely a trip to consider, we loved the blue water and my sons (11 and 14) loved diving off the boat - a big thank you to Ruben who helped us organise this. the house easily sleeps 8 people and if we get chance to come back we'll come back with friends and share with them this fabulous house and the lovely island of Gozo.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your lovely review. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the house, and it's location and enjoyed the boat trip our staff organised for you. It was a pleasure to have you stay, and we hope you choose to stay with us again in the future!
