About the home

The apartment consists of 3 bedrooms (one en-suite), bathroom,and a kitchen/living leading to a big back balcony overlooking the most popular Gozo beach of Ramla. The apartment also have a front balcony facing an old chapel and an underlying two car garage.

This apartment is in the one of the best parts of the village of Xaghra . It is just 5 minutes from Ramla Beach, the most popular beach in Gozo and it is surrounded with valley and country views. The location offers the traditional characteristics of a Mediterranean village, but one can find all the necessities within walking distance.
The apartment is steps away from the main Village square where one can find bars and quality restaurants offering both excellent and great value food.
Malsalforn which is less than ten minutes away by car is another main attraction in Gozo, especially during summer nights. There, one can find different bars and restaurants, one beside each other. The specialty dishes offered by the restaurants at Marsalforn are the fresh fish and other sea food dishes.
The popular night club of “Grotta” at Xlendi Bay is just 15 minutes away by car.

Victoria , the capital and little commercial hub in Gozo can be reached by car and by Public Transport in less than 10 minutes from Xaghra.

The Island of Gozo region

The Maltese Islands are situated in the centre of the Mediterranean - 93 km south of Italy and 290 km north of North Africa. Gozo lies about 5 km in the North West of Malta and the distance between Cirkewwa in Malta and Mgarr Harbour in Gozo, involves a 25 minute ferry crossing.
It therefore enjoys warm summers and mild winters and this makes it the ideal holiday destination at any time of the year!

As a holiday resort, Xaghra offers some fantastic views of the Gozitan landscape, it presents itself with an old fashioned and laid back lifestyle, friendly people and very safe to stay. The nearby beach of Ramla , historic attractions, tasty and good value food by quality restaurants make Xaghra a holidaymakers favourite for all the family.

Xaghra is most famous for the prehistoric sites, the temples of Ggantija, and the Neolithic site of Santa Verna, which lie nearby. Calypso's cave, of mythical fame, also lies within Xaghra. The present village has a more recent history. It became a parish in 1688, but the main church was only built during the mid 19th century. It is one of the most beautiful of Gozo's churches, with its richly-decorated interior, gilt sculptures, Italian marbles and paintings. The village also has two curious grottos, Ta' Xerri and Ta' Ninu, both of them beneath private houses but open to the public. The grottos have remarkable stalactites and stalagmites. The village also has two unusual museums: a Toy Museum; and an old wheat-grinding windmill. The mill, still in working order, has been fully restored and houses a collection of agricultural and domestic artefacts from centuries past.

The Main square of Xaghra, with its typical Gozitan environment, and friendly atmosphere makes holidaymakers feel attracted and at home immediately.

“Great, value for money accomodation!” Lovely appartment at a central location, close to Ramla Bay! Friendly and welcoming owner, nicely furnished and clean accomodation. Very reasonably priced - value for money!

“A geat base” This is a very nice apartment and well situated in a quiet part of Xaghra. The supermarket is about 30 yards away so is ideal. Ramla Bay is only a few minutes drive away if you are one for the beach. I found the apartment basic but ideal for my needs as being someone who has visited the island for many years.

“Great hollidays in Xagra” Me and my wife spend fantastic 10 days in Xagra. Owners of the flat, Carmen and Simon, were very nice and reliable people. We want to thank them for great hollidays! Flat is spacious, clean and has some mediterranean character :) Being in the balcony, overlooking the gardens and Ramla bay in the distance, you can hear the birds warbling from the neighbours' garden and church bells playing different melodies every day. The place is very calm, friendly people greet you with „hello“ every morning. There are lots of famous sites and nice places close to the flat: Gigantija temples, Takola windimill, Ramla bay ( there is a very steep short-cut for extreem lovers, though it takes only 5-10 minutes walk:), the main square of Xagra with some nice bars to have a drink, Calypso cave and much more. We also recommend everybody to visit the restaurant Tal-furnar, near Toys museum (5 minutes walk towards direction of main Xagra square). They serve a fantastic local food and wines. If you want to see the real Gozo life, you should definitely come and stay here for some days!
