About the home

Fionina Farmhouse is situated on the outskirts of Xaghra, Gozo.

The farmhouse is situated on a cliff edge, overlooking the towns of Nadur and Xewkija. Quiet and peaceful, yet only 10 minutes from the Gozo Ferry, from Gozo’s main City Victoria and from Gozo’s best sandy beaches of Marsalforn and Ramla Bay.

The Farmhouse enjoys Fantastic Country and Hillside Views and being South Facing, has at least 12 hours of Sunshine daily.

The Farmhouse has easy access to all amenities, including shopping and restaurants for eating out.

There is a large private pool and a fully equipped extra kitchenette next to the pool, large sun deck equipped with sunbeds, outdoor tables and chairs, sun umbrellas and a large barbeque – a perfect setting for a memorable lunch / dinner / other types of entertainment for both small and large families or group of friends.

With 7 separate bedrooms , 5 en suite bathrooms and 1 family bathroom, couples can enjoy their privacy in their own rooms, whilst enjoying the company of other relatives or friends, when it comes to communal dining or ascertainment.

Sun-beds are available , next to the pool, for at least 14 adults. Outdoor tables and chairs are available for approx 20 adults.

A large bricks barbeque is available next to the pool. Charcoal is to be supplied by the client.

Ample parking is available on the main road, next to the Farmhouse.

Bed Linen is provided at the beginning of the letting and changed every 7 days.

Tourists coming from abroad are also supplied with Bath and Face Towels.

A washing machine is available for rentals exceeding 6 nights.

Gas heaters for winter heating are available at an extra charge.

Conditions

Official Time in is 15.30pm and official time out is 11.30am. Early arrival and late departure can be contracted at an extra 1/2 day charge covering each option.
Strictly no smoking except on the balconies and outdoor.
Refundable breakages deposit (amount to be advised), required 4 weeks prior to arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
25% of rental fee due to secure booking and balance of rental fee to be paid at least 4 weeks prior to arrival.

The Island of Gozo region

The trio of Maltese islands is situated bang in the middle of the Mediterranean. Gozo forms part of that trio: the middle sister, it is smaller than Malta and bigger than Comino. It is 14kms long and 7kms wide meaning you will have plenty of time to explore the character and topography of the whole island during your stay here.

Gozo still evokes a sense of magic and myth, it is a place for history lovers to come and explore an almost untouched island brimming with stories of a bygone era. Life here is at a pleasant and sleepy pace, all wrapped up in a welcoming and harmonious environment.

The Maltese Islands attract thousands of divers each year, and it’s no wonder as Malta and Gozo offer some of the most spectacular dive spots in the Mediterranean and the world.

Comino (reached by frequent boat trips from various points in Gozo) has three secluded beach havens with clear turquoise blue water.

The Knights of St John left Gozo with a collection of historic watch towers, dotted around the outskirts of the island. The towers were built to serve as a communication system for the knights as they provided a 360-degree view of the surrounding water.

The Xaghra area

Xaghra rises on a hill in the central northeast of Gozo.

On the village approach, one finds the Ggantija Temples and about half a kilometre to the north of the temples, there is the Stone circle, an underground cemetery of the temple builders.

Just off the Ggantija Temples one can visit Ta'Kola Windmill. Built in 1725 and named after an early miller, this windmill is still in good working condition. During the Axis blockade of the Second World War, the mill was put to good use saving many from starvation.

Marsalforn (easily reached through Rabat, Xaghra or Zebbug) is the most popular summer resort of the island; a great dive spot. Marsalforn offers the widest variety of bars and restaurants, most of them al fresco.

Ir-Ramla il-Hamra (easily accessible by car through Nadur or Xaghra) is the largest, the most popular and most unspoilt beach on Gozo. It is awash with red sand. San Blas (reached through Triq San Blas, Nadur) is a delightful and secluded beach of red sand.
