The Heart of England/Peak District
Nottingham and Leicester are right in the centre of England, eager to be discovered. Experience vibrant city life, beautiful countryside and traditional market towns. Home to Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest and on the doorstep of the Peak district and the Vale of Belvoir. Inspiration for our literary heroes Lord Byron and DH Lawrence.
Enjoy the gentle rolling wolds farmland. You are not far from a Melton Mowbray pork pie and even closer to Stilton cheese manufactured in Long Clawson and Colston Bassett. The Rempstone Steam fair takes place in July annually. Glaston Budget (google that one!) in May.

"great place (for allergy suffers) to stay offering comfort and freedom at a reasonable price."
The little Barn was exactly as depicted in the photos on the website. When we carrived at the end of the afternoon it was warm, and welcoming. Clean and tidy with wooden floorboards, synthetic duvets, fluffy towels and a fully working oven. This we loved and used. The charming village of Wysall is a treat as is their local pub "The Plough". A great place for just a drink or a wonderful lunch. Wysall has the best of the country whilst being so close to Nottingham and Leciester. Lots of countrywalks in the area. Unfortunately we didn't have the right shoes with us. The paths are a bit muddy. So we just stuk to the country roads. We had a great holiday. Thank you Charlotte.
