The Powys/Brecon Beacons region

The Wye Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty and as soon as you arrive you will see why. With the beautiful scenery, rivers, historic buildings and walks there is plenty for everyone to enjoy. The Wye Valley runs north from Chepstow, just over the Severn Bridge from Bristol, and passes through many quaint villages, including Tintern which is home to Tintern Abbey, a very popular site for visitors.

Wye Valley

Locally around Llandogo you can go and visit many interesting buildings and get involved in many activities without travelling far:

Tintern Abbey, the best-preserved medieval abbey in Wales, is only 2 miles down the road and well worth a visit

Tintern Old train station is a fun place for all the family, with mini train rides, carriages to explore and a lovely picnic area to enjoy the beautiful surroundings

For a more relaxing afternoon, set the tastebuds going at the Wye Valley Brewery, Tintern

Chepstow Castle is one of many castles in the area that is good to visit all year round

For our more adventurous guests, take to the river on a canoe and explore the valley from its core

Wonder down the high street of Monmouth and explore the boutique shops and delis
