Set in the heart of an unspoilt area of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' this recently refurbished holiday cabin is located in the tranquil area of Woodside Beach. Take a minutes stroll to the quiet and unspoilt beach for a leisurely walk, some off the beach fishing or maybe explore the rockpools. From the private garden surrounding the cabin take time to appreciate the wildbirds and red squirrels, both daily visitors to the area.

For those looking to explore the island, our holiday cabin is ideally situated midway between the popular holiday town of Ryde and the islands world renowned yachting centre of Cowes,
An ideal location for a traditional family holiday, or for those looking for a welcome break from the frantic pace of modern day life.

The Isle of Wight region

The Isle of Wight has been a popular Holiday destination since Victorian times with it's high sunshine record, numerous visitor attractions and varied scenery. It is the ideal location for both traditional family holidays and shorter breaks.
As well as the traditional seaside resorts, it is fast becoming a popular location for walkers and cyclists.

The Wootton / Woodside Beach area

Woodside Beach is accessed down a 1 Km unmade lane and is in a beautiful and secluded location which is even unknown to many islanders. The sand/shingle beach is rarely busy and ideal for walks exploring rock pools boating etc.
The village of Wootton Bridge is 1.5 km away with numerous shops including a small supermarket, pharmacy, laundry and food outlets.
We are situated midway between the popular seaside town of Ryde with its many attractions and Newport the capital of the Island.

Wight Link operate car ferry services between Portsmouth and Fishbourne and Lymington to Yarmouth. A passenger only service operates between Portsmouth Harbour and Ryde Pier.

Red Funnel operate a car ferry service between Southampton and East Cowes with a passenger only service operating from Southampton to West Cowes.

“A very friendly welcome and good base for exploring the island” I chose the chalet as a long weekend to take my Mum and her dog away for a few days. The hosts were very friendly and helpful both during the booking process and while we were there. The house itself has a very private setting which shelters it from the surroundings, with a lovely garden providing good opportunities to watch the red squirrels and rich birdlife attracted by the many garden feeders. While quite small, the house is cosy, was very clean and provides everything you need for a few days' stay. The veranda area would also be very pleasant and usable in summer. It's just a minute's walk to a small beach which is good for morning dog walks or a quick stroll, and the chalet is conveniently located as a base for exploring the island. I felt the rates charged for a short stay in April were very reasonable and overall would thoroughly recommend Woodside Beach. The cabin was located next to a holiday park which has mobile homes for long-term or short-term hire, which I hadn't initially expected, but as mentioned the chalet felt very private with a lovely secluded garden and felt very quiet, so this wasn't an issue at all during our stay. I particularly liked that we were able to book direct with the host and that the price quoted was the price paid, without any hidden booking fees, pet surcharge, etc.

“Great time had by all” We stayed for Easter week at Woodside, there was mum, dad and two sons (5 yrs and 10 yrs). I have to say we loved it. Beautiful cabin and scenery. We saw red squirrels outside our cabin everyday along with beautiful birds and other widllife. The kids thought it was great and played out the front with their ball every evening. Even though we where near the owners house we felt that we had totally left the busy world behind. The cabin was great inside very clean and tidy and well stocked. I dont think the pictures on the site do the cabin justice as it really is superb. Loads of storage as well. We have already talked about going back.

“Secluded, peaceful, with friendly hosts.” Ideal for a peaceful holiday. Very near to a lovely beach, great for bird and red squirrel watchers. Efficient heaters and lovely enclosed garden. P. Wood

“lovely timberclad cabin set in a wooded area with only the birds to disturb your peace” We were looking for a quiet getaway and we certainly got that! lots of birds for company though the red squirrels were rather elusive! Though the cabin is situated in a lovely wooded area next to the owners house you really do feel like you are all alone. The beach is 2 minutes away and the views across to the mainland and the surrounding coast are spectacular. The cabin is very tastefully decorated the only downside being the bathroom but as we stayed near the end of the season we suspect that the bathroom has taken a beating over the summer months!! and hope that it will be spruced up for next year! We will certainly return to the island - there is so much to see and we hope to stay at Woodside again. Response: We note the positive comments. The cabin is due to be completely re decorated before the beginning of next season, and we will make sure the 'shower room' receives particular attention.

“fantastic, enjoyable, relaxing and friendly.” Fantastic location, just a short walk to the beach which has a lovely view of the solent. Red squirrels and birds visit the garden throughout each day. An ideal place for a quite relaxing holiday.
