The largest of 5 cottages at Fenton Hill Farm sleeping six or eight using the bed settee. it is a very spacious two storey cottage.

Downstairs there is a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, separate small shower room and large L shaped dining room with dividing doors which can be closed to partition off a separate area with a double bed settee. This gives the option of being used as a 3rd bedroom. A second dining table can be added to the dining room for families wanting to book more than one cottage for the family to eat together. A south facing door in the dining room opens out on to decking with patio furniture.

This is an ideal cottage for family gatherings, special occasions and Christmas and New Year breaks especially when more than one cottage is needed.

Upstairs are two dormer bedrooms - one double and one large family room which has a double and two single beds and a small wc.

The Northumberland region

Located in view of the Cheviot Hills and lying close to the Scottish Border, Fenton Hill is located in an area both beautiful and full of history.

Directly to the southwest of Fenton Hill lies the Cheviot Hills. These hills that stretch over the border into Scotland have spectacular and varied routes into and around them. Of the range, Cheviot is the highest standing at 2675 ft dominating the surrounding skyline. There are many wonderful walks in the hills and picturesque valleys for everyone from novice to enthusiast. Walking in the hills in Northumberland is certainly one of its best undiscovered secrets.

To the east, the Northumberland coastline comes to prominence and with it Lindisfarne with its rich Christian heritage, the Farne Islands with large colonies of seabirds and seals and Bamburgh, with its magnificent cliff topped perched castle, golden beach and host of tea rooms is undoubtedly one of the regions best loved secrets.

Driving to the south, along the fabulous coastal route, will lead to Dunstanburgh and Craster, home to the world famous Craster Kippers. Craster is a truly traditional Northumbrian fishing village. Dunstanburgh Castle can be viewed from Craster, however the 1 mile walk along the flowing coastline path to the castle is most definitely worth it.

A 35 minute drive southeast from Fenton Hill lies Alnwick, Northumberland's traditional county capital and home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Often referred to as the " Windsor of the North", Alnwick Castle dominates the town - so impressive is its stature that many movie directors have found their way to its door, most recently Harry Potter!! Nestling alongside the castle is the Alnwick Garden, a £12 million project kick-started by Her Grace, the Duchess of Northumberland. Comprising of many unique features, including the "Poison Garden", the Pavilion and Europe's largest Tree House the Garden is definitely a must see.

Wooler

Wooler is an attractive small stone-built town perched high above the Wooler Water and the natural gateway to the Cheviot Hills and the Northumberland National Park. From the Market Place and High Street three roads lead off through the foothills into the National Park. The busy main street with its inns, specialist shops, working pottery and grocery stores is the leading shopping centre in the area with a reputation for friendly, helpful service. Wherever you are in the town you are aware of the beauty of the surrounding scenery - on the one side the fell sandstone moors across the valley below - and on the other the majestic Cheviot Hills rising behind the town to form a magnificent backdrop.

The foothills with their quiet backroads and bridleways are ideal for cycling and riding. Within a short car journey you can be on the magnificient Heritage coastline of North Northumberland with it's spectacular scenery from Bamburgh Castle and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne to Seahouses and the famous Farne Islands.
