The West Country / Devon region
Located within close proximity to the wonderful beach of Woolacombe Bay, probably the best surfing beach in the UK . There are plenty of activities to keep the most adventurous family amused.
With the Gulf Stream keeping sea temperatures comfortable you will find everyone enjoying the surf all year round.
Woolacombe area
Just a few miles inland is the vast Exmoor National Park with unrivalled beauty if its a stiff coastal walk along the cliff paths or a ramble over the moors, as long as you always follow it with a Pub Lunch.
The harbour at Ilfracombe is worth a visit with its Victorian sea front and boat trips to Lundy or perhaps a half day fishing. It also boasts the exclusive restaurant owned by the famous artist Damion Hirst.
There are also all weather attractions at Watermouth Castle, The Big Sheep or The Milky Way. With exhibitions, talks or adventure play areas its a great day out.
We enjoy cycling along the Tarka Trail, a flat cycle way following the route of the old steam railway.
Further afield you could visit the historic village of Clovelly or even tip into Cornwall at Bude.
How to get there
