The hallway allows storage for boards and pushchair etc. The double bedroom has full en-suite and the 2nd bedroom has a single bed with guest bed under that can be made to the same height to provide a slightly smaller second single bed. There is also a wooden cot in this room.
From this room there is access to the terrace via a single patio door. The family bathroom has bath/shower over. This apartment’s locality to the beach and village makes for a superb base for your holiday in Woolacombe. Parking space for two small cars (or one larger), at owners own risk. Saturday changeover.

The West Country / Devon region

The North Devon Area Gateway to the Heritage Coast. In an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nestling snugly amongst the rugged cliffs of the majestic Atlantic coast lies the town of Ilfracombe. The beautiful and breathtaking scenery of the North Devon coast surrounds this charming natural harbour.
The resort has been popular since the 1830’s when the Victorians started to visit the area and much of the architecture today is a reminder of the Victorian era. Many of the large, elegant buildings, have since been converted into quality hotels.
The town has grown up around an ancient harbour where today fishing vessels share anchorage with pleasure craft, and from where the M.S. Oldenburg regularly sails to Lundy Island, twelve miles off the coastline. With its array of shops, cafes and bars, Ilfracombe has an almost continental atmosphere.
Ilfracombe is the base for many varied festivals. The town has a growing reputation for its floral displays and has been the proud winner of many coveted awards in the “Britain in Bloom” Competition. Each year the streets are awash with colour from June to October with baskets, tubs and planters everywhere.
Things To Do North Devon has a wealth of things to do during your stay. With some of the best beaches in Europe, including some of the finest surfing beaches, you can either relax and sunbath or take part in exhilarating water sports.
In the Area
Mortehoe and Woolacombe are within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), providing wonderful walks including the beautiful South West Coast Path. In early May you can join in guided walks in the North Devon and Exmoor Walking Festival.
The Tarka Trail (180 miles of walking and cycling routes through stunning countryside) offers the energetic a perfect opportunity to explore the highways and byways of North Devon. You can download a range of easy-to-follow cycle route to print out and enjoy.
Exmoor National Park also offers the walker a unique landscape to explore with added bonus horse trekking expeditions for those with equestrian interests.
For total peace and quiet and a truly memorable experience there is Lundy Island, a three mile long island, 12 miles off the North Devon coast. A paradise for wildlife watchers it also has a marine reserve which you can dive off.
North Devon also has several golf courses, with the champoinship courses at Saunton and the Royal course at Westward Ho! Locally we have courses at Easewell and Willingcott.
Gardens
The mild climate in North Devon means we have some wonderful gardens to visit. Marwood Gardens is a delight. Arlington Court (NT) has large gardens and the house of the Chichester family. Docton Mill in Hartland is in a delighful valley. RHS Rosemoor gardens at Great Torrington have matured into a selection of specialist areas as well as the original gardens.
Activities
For the energetic why not have a go at Quad Biking, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Indoor Climbing, Paintball and Sailing.
Attractions
The area also has a wealth of attractions including, The Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Dartington Crystal, Torrington 1646, Clovelly village and Watermouth Castle.
I hope this has helped you find things you would like to do while staying in North Devon.
The Woolacombe / Esplanade area
Situated in North Devon, along England’s western coastline, lie some of Europe’s finest and cleanest beaches, ideal for both families with children and water sports enthusiasts. The village of Woolacombe can be found along this spectacular golden coastline of soft sandy beaches, flanked by the dramatic headlands of Baggy Point and Morte Point.
Almost three miles of golden sands stretch from Putsborough in the south to Woolacombe village itself offering plenty of space for everybody. Bathing is particularly safe in the shallow waters which are patrolled by lifeguards during the main summer season.
The small settlement of Mortehoe is a pretty stone built village mentioned in the Doomsday Book. The village features several tea rooms and pubs, a thirteenth century church and Mortehoe Heritage Centre which recounts the areas rich maritime history. Mortehoe is also the starting point for many scenic walks along this dramatic stretch of coastline. Just north of the village and reached only on foot, is Rockham Beach lying at the base of the 100 ft cliff, an ideal location for a peaceful day on the beach. A picturesque village on a surf spot, what more could you want!
