About the home

Lee Bay is a picturesque village with a lovely mix of thatched and modern properties, nestling in a wooded valley with fabulous coastal walks (located on the South West Coast Path). Millfield offers attractive accommodation with open plan kitchen/dining room with french doors which open onto the terrace with beautiful sea views. There is a sitting room with wood burning stove and conservatory once again making the most of the glorious sea views.

With one dual aspect double bedroom , one twin and two single bedrooms the cottage also has two well equipped bathrooms (one with separate shower & bath and one with shower over the bath). There is ample parking for four or five vehicles and a 'Boat House' for storage of surf boards, kayaks and bikes. Surfing is nearby at Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde & Saunton. Wonderful walks on the South West Coast Path.

The living room opens into the Conservatory (refurbished for 2012) with wicker furniture & lovely views. Kitchen/Dining room with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. French doors leading out to the front lawns and wonderful sea views. A cupboard off the hallway houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedroom 1 (double) dual aspect with views to the sea. Bedroom 2 (single). Bedroom 3 (single). Bedroom 4 (double which can be arranged as a twin bedroom if required) located off the living room. Bathroom 1 with bath and shower over the bath ,WC and wash handbasin. Bathroom 2 with bath, WC, wash handbasin and shower cubicle.

The Woolacombe / Lee area

Lee is a small village with a mixture of thatched and mostly character properties nestling in a very picturesque wooded valley often known as 'Fuchsia Valley' because of the abundance of flowering hedgerows in the village. The village leads down to a beautiful cove with rockpools and small sandy beach with a further sandy beach accessed through the rocks at low tide and which is featured in the photographs. This beach is also accessed via steps down from the South West Coastal Path. In addition to as swimming and rockpooling, the beautiful coastline here is perfect for kayaking to explore the coves (on calm days and subject to checking the weather conditions of course) and the South West Coastal Path passes through Lee offering breathtaking views as it winds its way towards Ilfracombe or Mortehoe. Within the village there is a shop and public house called The Grampus which dates back to the 14th Century and with a tea-room that opens between Easter and October, a favourite with residents and holiday-makers alike. Families are catered for, and walkers and dogs are always welcome.

Lee is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the wonderful surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton which are all within a short car journey, yet enabling you to return to the tranquility of the village of Lee and away from the 'hubble bubble' of the busier surfing resorts. Equally, Exmoor is just 10 miles away just north of Combe Martin where beautiful moor and woodlands walks can be enjoyed. Golf can be enjoyed at Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and of course the championship course at Saunton where there are two links courses.
