Part of the Willingcott Valley Golf and Country Club, the tranquil location and en site facilities, are a winning combination for families who wish to avoid the congestion of a busy seaside resort.

Its modern open plan arrangement is furnished with comfortable leather settees and a large oak dining table. A fully fitted kitchen incorporates a good range of integrated appliances with the master bedroom and twin room benefitting from en-suite showers.

One of the most sought after areas of Devon's North Coast, the beaches in the region are second to none. Awarded Blue Flag status the long soft sands of Woolacombe and Putsborough, couldn't be better for families seeking a safe and clean environment for their children to play. Of course this coast is also well known for its magnificent waves, particularly popular with surfers Croyde is just 5 miles away.

Lesson and equipment hire can be found in all the coastal towns. An array of eateries are on the doorstep, The Rock at nearby Georgham comes highly recommended. There is parking in a car park immediately behind the cottage.

The outdoor 15 metre swimming pool open Whitsun to the end Sep is available for guests use (children must be supervised), along with a bar and restaurant. Rounds of golf can also be booked through the clubs reception, green fees vary throughout the year. Bees Cottage is positioned on a quiet corner of the estate with far reaching views of the golf course and lush, green fields beyond.

The West Country / Devon region

There is so much on offer for anyone looking to take a holiday in Devon. It is truly a beautiful and diverse county with sweeping moorland, wooded valleys to dramatic coastline, long sandy beaches, hidden inlets and traditional seaside towns and villages. Famous for its traditionally mild climate although 2010 saw snowfall in areas that exceed the Alps. The county is also proud of its locally grown produce where green lush fields and crystal clear seas produce some of the very best food the UK has to offer.

For those who enjoy home cooking most of this is available through farmers markets and local village shops. For those who would rather leave it to the professionals, you will be tempted by an outstanding variety of fantastic restaurants from fine dining through a traditional Devon cream tea! So my advise is come and experience the lure of this glorious county - the scenery is spectacular and the food mouth-watering, delicious and if you are lucky the sun will shine and you will indeed have found the holiday of your dreams!

The Woolacombe / Willingcott area

One of the most popular destinations in Devon, Woolacombe holds the ‘England for Excellence Gold Award’ for best family resort and was voted the Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday, its three-mile long stretch of golden sands has one both blue Flag and Premier Seaside Beach awards for its cleanliness and clear blue seas - it has been voted one of Britain's best beaches!. RNLI Life guards ensure safe family swimming during the summer and surfers come from all over the country to enjoy the great waves and clean water.

During the Second World War, the U.S. Army Assault Training Centre was based at Woolacombe, where thousands of small boat crews and infantry practised amphibious landing assaults on the beach in preparation for the Invasion of Normandy, part of Operation Overlord.
