Woodyates area
The charming, scattered hamlet of Woodyates sits in a prime location on the borders of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire – a great spot for anyone looking to explore the cathedral city of Salisbury and the Georgian town of Blandford Forum. Not only are these two historic cities only ten miles away, but the surrounding area – known as Cranborne Chase – has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The local countryside provides not only boasts walks through open, rolling hills, but is also home to a fourth century dyke, numerous tumuli and Pentridge, on which Thomas Hardy based the village of 'Trantridge', in his novel, Tess of the D'Urbervilles. The mysterious Stonehenge is nearby, and the Dorset Heritage Coast is just a short drive away, giving visitors plenty of choice for things to do whilst touring the region.

All bookings are subject to an additional £34.00 booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'Low', 'Mid', 'High', 'Peak', 'Xmas' and 'New Year' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
Guestbook for 1431
The cottage was exactly as described and in a secluded location, so it was peaceful and the garden was full of wildlife. There was plenty of opportunity for walking from the cottage. Having 2 boys aged 13 and 14 we were able to make full use of the owners' facilities - the swimming pool, tennis courts and trampolene, which enabled us to cut down on travel and expenditure. Having said that, we also visited the coast, Salisbury and Blandford Forum which are all within easy reach. Definitely somewhere we will go back to.
