The West Country / Devon region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes and patchwork of lush green fields, sleepy villages is not to be missed. Surf its north coast beaches, explore the rugged charms of Dartmoor’s peaks, cycle the Tarka Trail or explore Rosemoor’s fabulous RHS garden. Stately home lovers will be spoiled with Cotehele, Castle Drogo and St Anthony House nearby, and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
The Winkleigh area
Set in the heart of Devon's rolling countryside, the small rural village of Winkleigh provides a shop, post office, butchers and a café. The two local pubs offer a range of traditional ciders and scrumpy from the Winkleigh Cider Company and visitors can enjoy walks along winding lanes and high hedgerows. For more experienced walkers, the open tors of Dartmoor and the hills of Exmoor provide excellent rambling routes and can be reached in less than 40 minutes by car. Various surfing beaches and the cathedral city of Exeter - with its Roman city walls, shopping centre, theatre and restaurants - are also close by, adding an urban element to this peaceful yet diverse location.

,The cottage and its surroundings were out of this world. We were ideally located to access the coast and the gorgeous countryside. ,One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Clean and comfortable with every facility. A lovely garden and great views. The owners were very friendly, caring and helpful. Ideally placed for exploring both North and South Devon as well as Dartmoor. A day trip to the Eden Project in Cornwall was easily achieved. Highly recommended. We hope to return. All prices are inclusive of the booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
