The Hop House
About the home
Welcome to ... The Hop House...
The Hop House is an idyllic Sussex self-catering holiday cottage in Windmill Hill, near to the South Downs National Park and also close to the Sussex coast . This Sussex Weald Holiday barn is located on a working farm and has been beautifully converted by the present owners. The Hop House aptly named after the hops that were dried in the barn after picking, is still situated on a working farm where you can be surrounded by sheep, horses or fields full of crops. The Hop House overlooks miles of rolling countryside and the decking area outside is the perfect place to relax and enjoy these views. The Windmill that the area is named after can still be seen locally and the ancient town of Herstmonceux and its castle is close by as are the beautiful Sussex Downs where walks are abundant.
For those interested in seeing more of the farm the owners will take you on a "tractor trundle" to see the beautiful countryside, the working farm and the mass of wildlife in the area.
There are an abundance of Sussex beaches to choose to spend time on from, Pevensey Bay down the sandy beaches at Camber Sands which are not located far away from The Hop house! You can flip a coin as to whether to spend a day lazing on the beach or time relaxing in the countryside.
The Hop House has another barn close by but which is very separate called The Hovel These two barns can be rented out together if you would like to come away and stay with other friends and families and is great for Christmas time! To make your stay even easier, the owner of the barn is a fantastic cook and can offer you a range of delicious homemade meals, picnics or for a real treat, will prepare and serve a 3 course meal in your cottage!
