Spacious and stylishly furnished to a high standard, this south facing duplex apartment with stunning sea views is set in a tranquil and convenient position within an exclusive development in beautiful landscaped grounds with swimming pool, bar/ restaurant, two tennis courts and windmill. The complex is located on a hill and has spectacular views across Albufeira, the sea and surrounding hills. It is only 10 minutes walk from vibrant Albufeira Old Town and beaches and a similar distance from the new Albufeira Marina; ideally located for those who like to be within easy walking distance of excellent facilities, while still enjoying a relaxing holiday away from it all.

The apartment has 3 terraces: There is a South facing terrace between the ground floor and first floor to the front of the house with magnificent sea views and views over Albufeira. This is an amazing sun trap as it gets the sun all day. It has 2 sun recliners and side tables. The second terrace is on the top floor off the master bedroom and provides views over the landscaped gardens, pool and windmill and views over Albufeira beyond. Additionally, there is a good sized private patio on the ground floor off the lounge giving access to the beautiful gardens, shared pool with separate shower and toilet facilities and the poolside bar/restaurant. This has table and seating for 4 and has a built in barbeque. You will be spoilt for choice of terraces on which to sunbathe, enjoy al fresco dining, take in the stunning views all round or simply watch the sun go down while enjoying a glass of local wine.

The apartment offers everything you need for a self-catering base to explore the Algarve; a real home from home. It is on two floors, with no apartments above or below, and therefore has the feel of a townhouse. Living areas are open plan and spacious. The kitchen/ dining area was refurbished in April 2015 with new fitted units and new appliances and is fully equipped with electric oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, iron and has a dining table seating four. The large lounge has patio doors leading out to the patio. It has two double leather sofabeds, a small put u up single bed and an armchair and coffee table, together with 40” Flat screen SMART TV, some UK Channels, Free WIFI, iphone speaker , DVD and CD player. In the recently refurbished separate bathroom, there is a separate shower cubicle, as well as a shower over the bath, and WC and wash basin (with large mirror over vanity unit), and there is also a downstairs cloakroom. There are ample built-in wardrobes (with safe inside) in the Master bedroom, together with a dressing table, chair and mirror, as well as the double bed and bedside tables. Lounge and bedroom are fully air conditioned/ heated.

The well-established, landscaped gardens are beautifully maintained, with plenty of mature palm trees, fruit trees and shrubs; the complex is awash with colour for most of the year. The Windmill has been lovingly restored and sits alongside the swimming pool and bar/restaurant where a little music in the background is the perfect accompaniment to a light meal or refreshing cool drink.

It is a short distance to Salgados golf course, Zoomarine and waterparks.The Complex is situated on a hill, so it might not be suitable for some disabled/ elderly people, although taxis are readily available and usually reasonably priced.

The Algarve region

Windmill Hill, Albufeira

Being in quite a central position in the Algarve, Albufeira is an excellent base to explore the whole region. It is only about an hour and half's drive from both the nature reserves on the furthest Eastern point on the boundary with Spain and the furthest Western point of the Algarve with its rugged Atlantic coastline. Beautiful lakes and hills are within a one hour drive to the North, while to the East and West are numerous stretches of stunning white-sandy award winning beaches surrounded by beautiful cliffs and rugged coves.

Albufeira itself has two beaches: the golden sands of the Town Beach with bars, restaurants and water sports, reached via a tunnel through the cliff side, and Fishermen's Beach with its wide sandy shore often lined with brightly painted fishing boats. It is a vibrant resort which still retains much of a small-town/ fishing village charm. The narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town are lined with white washed houses, restaurants, bars and shops. The modern Marina also provides an alternative venue for eating, drinking and watching the world go by.

Windmill Hill being only 10 minutes walk from the Old town is therefore a convenient base not only for Albufeira, but for sampling many of the Algarve's attractions and sporting activities: beautiful beaches, villages, restaurants, golf courses, water sports, horse riding, Zoomarine, water parks and many others.

"Excellent apt with all facilities in a lovely location"

Lovely apartment in an excellent location in the complex. Having stayed in two other apartments in windmill hill this would be our favourite. Spacious with two balconies and a patio with fantastic views we were spoilt for choice. The apartment had everything we needed. We will be back!

"Perfect base for Albufeira"

We've just returned from this accommodation and found it to be the perfect base for a holiday in Albufeira. It is a 5 minute walk down to the Old Town/beach where there are no shortage of bars and restaraunts. If you don't feel like walking back up hill taxis are readily available. It is also 5 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket. The house itself is a great size, is nicely decorated and was spotlessly clean. In the kitchen there is a full cooker/oven, large fridge and plenty of utensils. The balconies and patio are all of good size and could easily accomodate 4 chairs. The built in BBQ on the ground floor patio is a nice touch. This patio also looks out over the well kept gardens and pool area. We loved our stay here and wouldn't hesitate going back again or recommending to family or friends. Rob, the owner, was great to communicate with and very helpful.

"Perfect apartment for a quiet, spacious holiday"

We spent a week here at the beginning of June, and loved it. The apartment was clean and spacious, loads of room for 2 people, 2 balconies and a patio with BBQ. The pool is great for a lazy afternoon, and local supermarket only 5mins walk - even has English tea! For us the location was perfect, close to the old town and beach and away from the touristy strip - though it is uphill, so you need to be happy to walk! We had a great time and would definitely recommend.

"Perfrect relaxing base to visit the Algarve."

Good layout of the apartment. Well furnished. Good kitchen facilities for own meals and close to town for meals out. The latter is an easy walk out but tiring return because of the slope of the streets.

"What a fantastic holiday!!"

Myself, my husband and my two boys had a wonderful holiday at Windmill Hill and our apartment was in a perfect location within the complex. The apartment itself was very spacious with great storage for all of us considering it was a one bedroomed apartment. It was well equiped for all your needs, it even had a tv with BBC 1 so my husband could watch the olympics, so really home from home!! We also had the choice of eating on two balconies with great views or the terrace with a view of the pool. My two boys aged 3 and 9 had a wonderful holiday, met lots of friends who they intend to keep in contact with. I think this means that we are already thinking about returning next year so thank you Rob & Gill for a lovely holiday!

"Absolutely Loved It!"

Returned from Windmill Hill last Thursday & we ABSOLUTELY loved it! Thank you! The weather was amazing - we had a May heatwave for the exact week that we were there so the air conditioning was a bonus! Our 3 1/2 year old little boy loved the place, the lawn area & of course the pool! The airport transfers were perfect as was the welcome pack - thanks again. The spacious lounge & the bedroom upstairs makes this apartment feel like a house as do the 3 outdoor balconies/terraces. The hill is nothing at a leisurely pace & we did it regularly in 38 degree sunshine! We will be back - of that I have no doubt.... Aileen Éire

"Fantastic position above albufeira old town."

What a famtastic property located on windmill Hill. Lovely position above Albufeira Old town. Nice complex and pool area. Lots of beds and we never had to book one with a towel! Apartment D-04 is the one we stayed at and the owners Rob and Gill Barnes ( contact via holiday lettings ) have got it just spot on. Clean, well furnished and equipped. It was just like a home from home in Portugal including Itv1 and BBc1 for those soaps. Rob and Gill were very professional and helpful throughout the whole booking process. Winmill hill is a wonderful complex and Rob and Gills apartment is superb. Wouldnt hesitate in going back.
