The Byre is a stone built cottage, 1.5 miles from the village of Staveley, close to Windermere and Kendal in the Lake District National Park. This cottage is set over three floors with a double bedroom on the second floor and a family room with single bed and adult sized bunks on the ground floor, which means this cottage can sleep five people. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor. The first floor living area contains a kitchen, a sitting and a dining area. Outside, this cottage has ample off road parking and a garden area with furniture. The Byre is a perfect family cottage and ideal for those that wish to explore everything the Lake District has to offer.

Shops and pubs 1.5 miles.
The Cumbria/Lake District region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes – the Lake District landscape has inspired several literary greats, including William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Water, where you can cruise the lake on a steam-powered yacht soaking up the scenery in Victorian style, could be for you. Walking is one of the best ways of exploring the Lake District.
For the serious walker the mountains of Skiddaw, Scafell and Helvellyn provide enjoyable challenges, whilst at lower levels there are hundreds of routes wandering among the lakes and stone-walled fields. You can even choose a lake to suit your mood: if bustling lakeside towns and exhilarating watersports take your fancy, then Windermere and Coniston Water, where you can cruise the lake on a steam-powered yacht soaking up the scenery in Victorian style, could be for you. If it’s peace and tranquility you seek then the secluded lakes of Buttermere and Wastwater are not to be missed. Yet Cumbria offers much more than the lakes alone. Explore the National Nature Reserve on Walney Island or visit the picturesque Duddon Valley, where the heather clad moors peppered with birch trees inspired many of Wordsworth’s poems.
With its award-winning gardens and the Lakeland Motor Museum, Holker Hall is also a great day out, whilst in northern Cumbria the peaceful villages of Caldbeck and Ireby offer a haven of solitude and picturesque tranquility. To the east lies the green and sheltered Eden Valley. Its dramatic landscape provides a range of activities including walking, cycling and watersports and is home to the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre and Lowther Wildlife Park, perfect for a family day out
The Windermere / Staveley area
Situated in the eastern valley of the Lake District National Park is the thriving Lakeland village of Staveley. Providing superb access to the rest of the region, the village also boasts an excellent range of amenities including a variety of shops, three pubs, a craft shop and a Railway Station. The village's famous bike shop offers cycle hire, whilst the whole area provides great walking opportunities and interesting trails. The bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are close by and have long proved popular with visitors to the region. These larger settlements provide a range of amenities to suit all tastes and budgets, whilst at Lake Windermere visitors can enjoy boat trips including a ride on the ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. Displaying a fascinating collection of boats and ideal for maritime enthusiasts is the 'Windermere Steamboat Museum' whilst slightly further afield, children can enjoy the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
