The Bothy is a stone built cottage, close to the village of Staveley, five miles from Windermere in the Lake District National Park. This cottage sleeps four people and has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom with 2ft 6’ beds, as well as a ground floor family shower room. The cottage also has a living area with a kitchen, a sitting and a dining area with a woodburner and French windows that lead to a garden. Also, there is ample off road
parking. The Bothy is a lovely cottage, perfect for families that want to explore the Lake District.

Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, colour TV, video etc. Oil for heating inc. in rent, domestic electricity charged at cost from meter reading, initial supply of fuel for open fire inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Shared use of laundry room, with washer and dryer - charge of £1 per load. Cot on request. Ample off road parking. Garden area with garden furniture and superb views. Well behaved pet welcome at £15. Shops and pubs 1.5 miles.
The Cumbria/Lake District region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes – the Lake District landscape has inspired several literary greats, including William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Water, where you can cruise the lake on a steam-powered yacht soaking up the scenery in Victorian style, could be for you. Walking is one of the best ways of exploring the Lake District.
For the serious walker the mountains of Skiddaw, Scafell and Helvellyn provide enjoyable challenges, whilst at lower levels there are hundreds of routes wandering among the lakes and stone-walled fields. You can even choose a lake to suit your mood: if bustling lakeside towns and exhilarating watersports take your fancy, then Windermere and Coniston Water, where you can cruise the lake on a steam-powered yacht soaking up the scenery in Victorian style, could be for you. If it’s peace and tranquility you seek then the secluded lakes of Buttermere and Wastwater are not to be missed. Yet Cumbria offers much more than the lakes alone. Explore the National Nature Reserve on Walney Island or visit the picturesque Duddon Valley, where the heather clad moors peppered with birch trees inspired many of Wordsworth’s poems.
With its award-winning gardens and the Lakeland Motor Museum, Holker Hall is also a great day out, whilst in northern Cumbria the peaceful villages of Caldbeck and Ireby offer a haven of solitude and picturesque tranquility. To the east lies the green and sheltered Eden Valley. Its dramatic landscape provides a range of activities including walking, cycling and watersports and is home to the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre and Lowther Wildlife Park, perfect for a family day out
The Windermere / Staveley area
Situated on the eastern fringes of the Lake District National Park and offering superb access to the whole region is the thriving Lakeland village of Staveley. This little town provides an excellent range of amenities, including a great selection of shops, three pubs, and a Railway Station. Cycle hire is available from the famous bike shop in the village whilst the whole area offers fantastic walking opportunities. The bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside - popular with visitors – are just a short drive away and provide a range of amenities to suit all tastes and budgets. Visitors can enjoy boat trips on Lake Windermere, including a ferry ride to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The 'Windermere Steamboat Museum' displays a fascinating collection of boats and is a great place for nautical enthusiasts. Children will enjoy the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in nearby Bowness, which uses state of the art technology to bring her characters to life.

,The Bothy was an excellent location for starting out sight seeing. The accommodation and gardens were just right and the owners were very nice and helpful. Being a dog friendly accommodation it was ideal for our dog with ample garden, although no gate, but plenty of walks close by.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
