Windermere is the Lake District Largest Lake and a "Mecca" for tourists. Windermere train station is situated close by for holidaymakers preferring to use public transport.
How to get there
Leave M6 at junction 36 and take the a590 towards the lakes and barrow.
A590 becomes a591, follow a591 to Windermere.
Turn left off the a591 as you enter Windermere, following signs for Bowness.
Follow the a5074 lake road down from Windermere to Bowness on Windermere.
At the bottom of the hill (known as crag brow) you will reach a mini roundabout – turn right onto Rayrigg road.
Drive past the pubs & car park on your left and turn right (just before the petrol station on left) up quarry brow.
