'Whitestone Cottage' was built in the late 18th Century and is part of a row of cottages, which was originally used by workers from a mill. It is a three storey cottage full of character displaying features such as a cosy open fire, an abundance of beams and stripped pine . You will find 'Whitestone Cottage' like home from home and beautifully furnished throughout. The cottage is situated in a quiet village near the foot of Lake Windermere. The village is in a wooded valley through which the river Leven flows from Lake Windermere. It has beautiful views and several walks and lots of local attractions, some which are close to the cottage.

Half a mile away is Haverthwaite Railway Station which runs steam trains to nearby Lakeside where Lake Steamers run regularly to Bowness and Ambleside.
The cottage is only 8 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere and 4 miles from Cartmel with its famous priory and Race Course. Fellfoot Park, by Lake Windermere is ideal for young and old alike. 5 minutes walk away from the cottage is The Whitewater Hotel which has a bar and restaurant and excellent leisure complex. The nearest village pub is called The Anglers which is opposite Haverthwaite Railway Station. The pub offers good food and drink and family groups are made to feel very welcome. Just a mile and a half away you can relax and take in the panoramic views of the waterside at the 5 star Swan Hotel. Close by The Swan Hotel is The Newby Bridge Hotel which offers a good Sunday lunch carvery. Both hotels can be reached by an enjoyable hillside walk.

Through the archway is the brand new luxury kitchen with all mod-cons and 6 seater dining table, which creates a relaxing environment in which you can cook and enjoy a relaxing evening meal.
The first floor accommodates a double bedroom and spacious refurbished bathroom.
On the second floor you will find a master bedroom with 4 POSTER BED and en-suite (tastefully decorated and complimented by a wooden flooring to give a spacious feel to the room. It has a WC and hand basin.
The 3rd bedroom has bunk beds to sleep adults/children and has a pine tallboy and draws.
There are private gardens with patio areas to front and rear with garden furniture to relax and eat alfresco. The front is south facing and a real sun trap to enjoy until late evenings. Loungers are avaiable for sun lovers.
There is off street parking to front and rear that will accommodate two cars.
