Double doors to beautifully furnished lounge with wood floor and deep cushioned seating, with the all important woodburning stove ensuring cosy winter warmth and a picture window affording magnificent views and access to the terrace. A separate reception room which also enjoys the views and access to the terrace is a great place to escape too. From the hall a short flight of stairs lead to the superb triple aspect country kitchen with stone flagged floor, beamed ceiling, solid oak units, granite work tops, Belfast sink, top of the range integrated appliances, family breakfast table, and a stable door allowing access direct to the garden. A useful utility room is situated off the kitchen with separate WC. Upstairs to a stunning master bedroom, a bedroom with full size bunk-beds, and a super king size room, all beautifully furnished and co-ordinated. Family bathroom with separate shower cubicle and Whirlpool bath. Outside Myley Ghyll enjoys private parking for four cars.
This superb Lake District holiday cottage in the Troutbeck Valley offers a unique opportunity for families or friends to 'get away from it all', without straying far from the Lake District's tourist attractions and other scenic highlights. Troutbeck is one of the Lake District's quieter villages, set in blissful rural surroundings between Ambleside and Windermere, and right at the start of the famous Kirkstone Pass which provides your scenic route to Ullswater. The valley is laced with renowned Lake District walks, and scattered with traditional Lakeland cottages and country pubs (don't miss the fabulous Queen's Head!). It's a truly magical scene.
Windermere village is only a short drive away, with shops, restaurants and an excellent Booths supermarket for stocking up the kitchen. Drive only a couple of miles further and you'll reach Bowness on Lake Windermere's eastern shores. There you'll find an array of evening entertainment, boating activities, the Royalty Cinema and the Old Laundry Theatre.
The same distance to your west is Ambleside, on Lake Windermere's northern shores. This cosmopolitan Lake District village is a place to while away an entire day - lose-yourself shops, acclaimed Lake District restaurants and of course the delights of the lake shore.

The Cumbria/Lake District
The Lake District is a place like no other. No other region in the world is so packed with such varied and stunning scenery in such as small area– and it's all on your doorstep with easy access by car or rail. The choice of outdoor activities is endless with some of the best walks, climbs and bike rides in the world, beautiful lakes for sailing, canoeing, windsurfing or just a cruise one of several ferry services. The National Park itself encompasses soaring mountains, native woodland (you might see a red squirrel!), lush meadows and of course the many famous lakes themselves. Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter, Ruskin and many more have been inspired by the Lake District and made their homes here. The homes are still here and open to visit and they too are surrounded by majestic mountain panoramas. There also some surprises – kids will love attractions such as the giant i-max screen at Rheged Visitor Centre, Go Ape aerial activities in Grizedale Forest and The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness. And where better to stay than a classic Lakeland Cottage. Lakelovers have over 400 properties in prime locations within the heart of the Lakes and we specialise in hand-picked properties that we know you'll love. Whether you want a grand property for a family gathering or a cosy bolt hole for two we can't wait to show you what we have for you to choose from. We know The Lakes inside out and we are just a click of a mouse or a phone call away.
