The Cumbria/Lake District

The Lake District conjures up images of magnificent mountains and shimmering lakes and that is exactly what visitors find here. In fact the whole county of Cumbria is home to some of Britain's most beautiful scenery.
This region has been a favourite all year round holiday destination for years and apart from its natural beauty it's also packed with lots of attractions and activities that cater for every kind of holidaymaker, from family holidays to romantic breaks for couples and from those who are looking for lots of activities and sports to those that prefer more gentle country pursuits.
The Lake District National Park lies at the heart of Cumbria and contains well known and much loved holiday destinations such as Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere, here there are lots of charming Lakeland villages to discover and visitor attractions for all the family.
The northern and western lakes have miles of untouched natural rugged beauty and rural villages as well as being home to the historic northern lakes town of Keswick with its many shops, pubs and restaurants; providing a great holiday base.
Other areas to discover include the Eden Valley, Cartmel peninsula, south east Cumbria and the Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall area; all equally beautiful and very handy for day trips into the lakes.

Windermere

The tranquil location of this park of Lake District cottages gives a feeling of relaxed remoteness but in reality there is direct access to the Lakeland fells and Windemere is just 3 miles away. Cumbrian cottages are the perfect base for an action packed activity break, the area has opportunities for hiking, golf, pony trekking, cycle hire and of course fishing, sailing and water sports on the many lakes. As well as the lakes, the area also has spectacular scenery and rolling hills to enjoy and a variety of towns and village to explore with interesting shops full of local products, cafes, restaurants and bars to stop and refuel during a busy day.

"Nowhere better to stay!"

The most peaceful, scenic place to stay if you want to visit the Lake District. Great base to travel about and in easy reach of many places. Prices are excellent. Cabin is plush and very well equipped for groups of any size. Park is out of the way enough to be quiet and has facilities to suit families, couples or groups.

It was a pleasure.to stay there.

Thank you for an excellent, unforgettable holiday.
