It is an fantastic place to get away from the stress and strains of everyday life, or enjoy outdoor pursuits and thrills.
The Lake District is a magical place during any time of year. In spring there are delicate, wild daffodils, swathes of vibrant bluebells and the accompanying bleats of lambs. Enjoyed a 3 night stay with my husband to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Could not have asked for a better place, the lodge is cosy, warm and has all the facilities you need to provide a comfortable stay. The location is so peaceful and beautiful on the river we only wished the weather could have been better to enjoy the balcony more although we did have a BBQ! Perfect only wished we could have stayed longer - we will be back! Response: You just can't beat a riverside barbecue on the balcony, whatever the weather! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and you found the Lodge cosy and comfortable. |

I found the cabin perfect for my family and two Dalmations, it had everything we needed to hand, felt very comfortable and also on a very cold snowy weekend we could make it very warm and cosy. It was very central for getting out and about in the Lakes, absolutely perfect. We will be revisiting shortly and hopefully taking more people with us in another cabin and wouldn't hesitate in recommending to anyone else. Many thanks Julie xx Response: Thank you for a lovley review, we're really glad you enjoyed your stay in the snow. We'll look forward to welcoming you back to Riverside Lodge when it's a bit warmer! If you come with friends next time our other Lodge is only a few meters away. It's called Puddleduck Lodge, it's also right on the river, and both Lodges can be rented together. |

When we first arrived you could just tell it was quality. The place was amazing. Plenty of room and every detail thought about. It was a lot more spacious than I thought it would be. Bathroom is very large for a log cabin. The couch and chairs were very comfy and telly a good size for a relaxing night in. The bedding was really nice, good quality and looked brand new. Very cosy, in fact a bit too warm - which for a log cabin was strange. I had packed for winter but needed some shorts and t shirts. The kitchen is equip with everything you would need. I cooked one night and it was easy to work in. The other night we went for the best roast beef dinner I have ever had in The Queens Head a few mins drive away. Fantastic. I can't praise it enough. I knew I had chosen well from the correspondence back and forth from the owners, they seem like really nice, honest and trusting people. I am a fussy guest and am usually let down by something because my expectations are very high, but I cannot find fault. Response: We're so pleased you had such a great time at the Lodge. It really is a cosy place, probably because it's all made from wood! Next time you come you could try the other pub in the village which is also excellent. |
