About the home

"Wastwater" and "Elterwater" are two one-bedroomed cottages within minutes of Windermere Lake. Cosy, warm and well equipped to meet all your needs for a relaxing and tranquil break away from it all.

The open-plan kitchen/living/dining area is upstairs, so that you have the best views to the hills. The cottages are set back from the road with a lawn and patio tables in front, allowing you to soak up the sun.

Excellent restaurants and shops are located nearby to suit all your needs.

The cottages have been recently refurbished to a high standard. The kitchen is well equipped with washer drier, fridge freezer, microwave etc.

The Cumbria/Lake District region

Cumbria is arguably one of the most beautiful areas in England and home to England's largest natural lake, Lake Windemere.

A place to come and relax, unwind with relaxed pace of life and no hustle and bustle. There is much for walkers and cyclists and watersport fanatics or wander further afield to some of the picturesque Lakeland villages.

The Windermere area

The area around Windermere attracts fans of water activities and boating. Surrounded by fells there is much walking to be done, cycle trails to follow and local villages to discover.

On Windermere Lake steamers and launches operate from Bowness Bay to Waterhead at Ambleside. At the southern end of the lake, you’ll find Lakeside Pier and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway and the Aquarium of Lakes.

The National Park Visitor Centre is at Brockhole between Bowness and Ambleside. Opposite Brockhole is Wray Castle and the first Lake District holiday home of Beatrix Potter.

By car:-
Leave M6 at junction 36. Follow A591 to Windermere village. After the one-way system, follow the main road to Bowness for half a mile. Immediately after the zebra crossing turn left on Thornbarrow Road. We are 400 yards up the hill on the right.
By train:-
Go to Windermere station (direct service from Manchester airport). Beaumont is a three minute taxi ride away
